xdrawchem 1.9.9 (Mac OS X)

Solution: XDrawChem 1.9.9 fails to launch

gentle persons, due to some error the libz-luibrary version 1.2.2 (or higher) was not included in the XDrawCHem 1.9.9 installer. I'm deeply sorry for that. As of 12.12.05, 11:00h - please download a newly packed installer which includes this library via the provided download link. Again: I'm sorry for the inconvenience this might have caused. CMBEASY 4.1 (Mac OS X)

Typo in the assignment of variables description

gentle persons, there is a error in the description on how to assign the variables needed by CMBEASY. Please use the correct command: setenv CMBEASYDIR /Applications/cmbeasyv41/bin when you use tcsh; use export CMBEASYDIR=/Applications/cmbeasyv41/bin when on bash. Please use the same path assignment when editing environment.plist as described in the included ReadMe. [alert admin]

Qt/Mac GPL/QPL edition 3.3.5 (Mac OS X)

Bug in the Qt 3.3.5 installer

I'm deeply sorry!! There is a bug/error in the new installers for Qt 3.3.5 and 4.0.1. Due to the compiled SQL-support, the Qt-library looks up mysqlclient-library during startup -> libmysqlclient.14.dylib in the folder /usr/local/lib/mysql . If this is not found, any started application which uses the Qt-lib will shut down (You should see a related entry in the console crashreporter log of the app). I'm fixing the installers - for all that downloaded one of the Qt-installers already - an archive of the missing lib is available at http://naranja.umh.es/~atg/copy-...l-lib- mysql.zip Dearchive and copy the folder to /usr/local/lib. again: I'm sorry. nota bene: apparently this is just a check/dependency on the Qt-library startup. cheers, Markus Bongard [alert admin]

ChemDraw 9.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

freeware chemical drawing programs

gentle persons, there several programs which offer, presumably in some aspect restricted, for drawing chemicla formula which run natetively on MacOSX. Beside some JAVA based software, you might want to take a look on xdrawchem. A binary installer, which does not need X11, is available here on versiontracker -> http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20542 To run it you have to install the native version of Trolltech's Qt 3 framework; a minimal installer is available here http://naranja.umh.es/~atg/QtMac334_Mini.zip. After installation of the framework you have XDrawChem running natetively under MacOSX without need of an X11-Server. [alert admin]

QCad 2.0.5.0 (Mac OS X)

QCAD 2 GPL-Edition

gentle persons, a long time ago I created this entry on versiontracker for the MacOSX binary installer I put together for QCad 2 (GPL edition). Versiontracker is automatically detecting and updating this entry - BUT not for the GPL-edition, but for the shareware edition. I don't know why this happens, or what to do *besides writing emails* - the binary installer for QCad 2.0.4.0.1 GPL (which means btw. no scripting abilities) is still available on http://naranja.umh.es/~atg/ There you'll find additionally a Qt/Mac 3.3.4 installer *chose "minimal" or "full"* to run this binary of QCad 2.0.4.0.1 GPL. AND: the GPL-version is updated not as freqently as the shareware-version. [alert admin]

Evolvotron 0.4 (Mac OS X)

Which Qt/Mac 3.3.x installer?

For people who just want to run Evolvotron (and don't have Qt/Mac 3.3 already on their system) - you don't need to download the "full" Qt/Mac 3.3.4 (GPL edition) installer for MacOSX from http://naranja.umh.es/~atg On the same page is a Qt/Mac 3.3.4 "minimal" installer (GPL edition) available (10Mb), which allows to run evolvotron or any other Qt3-based program provided on the ATG website. You can download it via: http://naranja.umh.es/~atg/QtMac334_Mini.zip More information is available on the same page http://naranja.umh.es/~atg/ [alert admin]

Qt Universal Circuit Simulator 0.0.5 (Mac OS X)

gentle persons, as displayed by the installer during installation, mentioned in the included ReadMe, and written on versiontracker: this program needs an installation of Trolltech's Qt framework *THIS IS NOT QUICKTIME* compiled with thread-support- you can download a binary installer of the GPL version for MacOSX 10.3.x via http://naranja.umh.es/~atg If you like to compile the latest version of this C++ framework for yourself visit http://www.trolltech.com [alert admin]

xdrawchem 1.9.2 (Mac OS X)

Trolltech's Qt framework IS NOT Apple Quicktime

gentle persons, as mentioned on the versiontracker, displayed by the installer, and readable in the included readme - for using xdrawchem you need an EXISTING installation of trolltech's QT C++ framework (version 3 or higher; THIS IS NOT QUICKTIME) on your computer. Use the link provided on versiontracker in "product requirements" of xdrawchem to download an installer of it. That's it. xdrawchem 1.9.2 runs happy on all flavours of MacOSX 10.3 if your computer system complies to this prerequisite. [alert admin]

xdrawchem 1.7.2 (Mac OS X)

XDrawChem needs additional Qt/Mac installation!

gentle persons, the above error appears if the requiered libraries from Qt/MAC are NOT installed (!). As explained in the included Readme of xdrawchem (and displayed by the xdrawchem installer) you need to install these libraries. A binary installer is available at http://naranja.umh.es/~macqt/installer/QtMac-Installer.dmg.gz (see the included readme for defining the path variables). If you like to compile these libraries by yourself, visit www.trolltech.com at http://www.trolltech.com/download/qt/mac.html [alert admin]

it does not open

this program needs an existing installation of Trolltech's Qt3.3.x C++ framework (this information is displayed by the installer and included in the ReadMe, as well in the requirements here) - this is what the crashreporter log is saying: Qt3 is not installed. A download bookmark for the required Qt3.3 (nota bene: Trolltech's Qt is NOT Quicktime!) is included with the Qtiplot-installation. Again: Qt3.3.x is required - the newer Qt4.x-framework is neither binary nor source code…

It does not run on Macbook pro

QCad 2.0.5.0 CE depends on an installation of Trolltech's Qt3.3.x C++ framework on your computer. A download bookmark for an installer package of Qt3.3.5 is provided with the installer (nota bene: Qt3.3.x is NOT Quicktime. And: Qt3.3.x is neither binary nor source compatible to Qt4.x). If you like to compile the framework by yourself, visit http://www.trolltech.com Indeed this version is a PPC-binary (but might work on Intel in Rosetta when the Qt3.3.x framework is installed -…

Fail to launch

the reported error results from a "feature" in the Makefile for libz. The entry "compatibility version" is set to "1.0" - if you can, edit the Makefile by changing this to "1.2" and recompile the libz library. After "make install" the problem is simply gone.

0.5.0b installation fails

gentle persons, this is a MacOSX 10.4.x related bug of Apple's installer app. While I redid the installer available for download, if you have problems installing under MacOSX 10.4.x please do the following: - delete any cb2bib-related receipt inside the folder /Library/Receipts BEFORE running the installer - run the installer. If this give the again the "there is nothing to install"-error message, you can extract the files from the installation-bundle and install manually: ---------------------------------------------------------- - Select the cb2bib 0.5 installer…

Cool. Too bad that...

gentle persons, the mysqlclient dylib was *mea culpa* not included with the Qt installers - the installers on ATG are now fixed and include the required lib. If you don't want to download again any Qt3.3.5-installer, you can get the missing files here: http://naranja.umh.es/~atg/copy-to-usr-local-lib-mysql.zip dearchive and copy the content to /usr/local/lib Sorry for the inconvenience!

compile error

the error is related to the embedding of the program icon. Create an icon from the included PNG, name it "cb2bib.rc", copy it to the upper level of the source distribution folder… compile. Anyway there is a binary installer now available.
