Times Reader 1.0b1 (Mac OS X)
First of all, the NY Times Marketing Department did not submit this beta listing to VersionTracker...I did. As a long time subscriber to the NY Times, I have been using the Times Reader application in Windows via Boot Camp. While the Mac version is still not up to par with the Windows version, it is still a beta and one that's been in development for at least the past year. Microsoft has supported the development of this app, and it is a port from the Windows version which also uses Silverlight in lieu of Flash. I am happy to see it now available for the Mac and anticipate the app getting more refined in the near future. [alert admin]

Cisco Aironet 2.0 (Mac OS 9)
to my knowledge is the first to support Airport connectivity for pre-Airport compatibility both in the MacOS 9.x environment as well as in MacOS X. I recently purchased a Aironet 350 PCI Adapter for my PowerMac G3/266 which previously was not Airportable because of motherboard incompatibility with the Farallon SkyLine PCI adapter, and even so there was no OS X support. Now with this Aironet adapter, my PowerMac G3 has all the wireless functionality of my newer machines. Cisco has an extensive web based tutorial on setting up the Aironet adapters in MacOS X as well. For this I applaude their as yet seemingly unpublicized efforts. [alert admin]
