Bookdog 5.3.5 (Mac OS X)
Download link here and both the .zip and .dmg links on the developer site are still for 5.3.3, but the release note page on the dev site mentions 5.3.5. [alert admin]

SplashID iPhone Desktop 5.01 (Mac OS X)
I've been generally satisfied with the combination of SplashID iPhone Desktop 4.6.1 and SplashID Lite 4.6. Upgrading to v5 would require paying for both the desktop app and a compatible non-Lite version of the iPhone app which I don't currently need. And it's disappointing that SplashIDDataBase.sdb data files still aren't portable between PPC and Intel Macs, a design flaw which SplashData has had plenty of time to fix. And multi-device synching doesn't appear to be supported in v5. Plus after waiting several years for v4, a long overdue but worthwhile enough upgrade from near-abandonware v3, it seems too soon to charge again for v5. The desktop app still looks/feels too much like a clunky port from Windows than a natively written OS X app. SplashID used to be one of my more essential apps, especially when using Palm OS devices, but 1Password is getting closer to fully replacing it. Hopefully 1P eventually supports more sophisticated importing of SID data. Speaking of support… I prefer AWS' focus on OS X and iPhone versions of 1P, compared to SplashData being spread more thinly across several products/platforms. [alert admin]

EyeTV 3.1.2 (Mac OS X)
See Nick Freeman's EyeTV Lounge forum post about a new build of 3.1.2 to handle permission issues for non-admin usage: http://forums.elgato.com/viewtopic.php?p=27787#p27787 [alert admin]

SafariStand 3.1L162 (Mac OS X)
The download link here is for version 4.0L167 on Leopard, the latest update for Safari 4 compatibility, but the Product Version is 3.1L162 for Safari 3. Check the developer's site for compatible combinations of Safari/SafariStand/OS X. [alert admin]

uSeesoft DVD Ripper 1.3.1.0 (Mac OS X)
This is interesting: http://oncallnerd.com/blog-spam-hunt/ (Blog-spamming Investigation) uSeesoft isn't on the list (yet), but I'd be suspicious of it, e.g. a whois query of useesoft.com shows it's registered to someone in China. [alert admin]

Apple Safari 3.2 (Mac OS X)
3.2 crashed/hung quickly on my iMac G5 (running 10.5.5) before first uninstalling SafariStand, then PithHelmet. So far it runs fine on my wife's eMac (under both our accounts) without uninstalling either SS or PH. Both systems are configured relatively identically so it's not obvious why it works on the eMac but not the iMac. Wish I'd held off on the iMac instead of trusting the successful eMac testing. :( [alert admin]

StuffIt Expander 13.0 (Mac OS X)
FYI: more direct download choices
In addition to the links versiontracker2007 already posted, you can also choose different versions to directly download from here: http://my.smithmicro.com/downloads/trials/downloads.html Select a version from the Mac or Windows menu before clicking the FREE DOWNLOAD button. No e-mail address required, at least when I picked Expander 2009. [alert admin]

Nope, the phantom rating bug has been around long before the CNET buyout.

Maybe Toast 10 doesn't do all of what's flagged as NEW on the Popcorn 4 features page (e.g. scheduling): http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/popcorn/standard/features.html … but probably Toast 11 will.

considering development/support
One of my reasons for choosing DVDpedia over alternatives was that it (and all the 'pedia products) are being actively developed and well supported.

OmniFocus at the top of The Hit List
Sounds like The Potion Factory plugging their product.
I seriously doubt relatively high profile developers are resorting to shill tactics like that, risking being blacklisted by the developer community. Did you notice dressed2kell's other posts, mostly just other "random" 1-star commentary? They certainly don't correlate with your theory about comments here sounding like The Potion Factory plugging their product.

Currently here: http://sheepsystems.com/bookdog/beta/Bookdog.zip … but the Bookdog Update News page doesn't label it as a beta. This isn't the first time the app update has been confusingly sloppy.
