Kung-Tunes 2.3.6 (Mac OS X)
crashes- related to special characters in titles?
I'm seeing crashes during the formatting process. It occasionally crashes when it gets to "formatting track list... 2". Looking back over my recently played tracks in iTunes, perhaps it is due to special characters, such as " or : in the song title or album title. Just a thought... any one else seeing this? I don't have complicated formatting, but I am using placeholders. The resultant page is here: http://www.tastycast.com/played.php Otherwise Kung Tunes is pretty cool. It'd be nice if Live 365 gave broadcasters tools like this. They should pay this author to do it! [alert admin]

Nicecast 1.5.5 (Mac OS X)
build it yourself, smartypants
I also hesitated to comment on the previous posters' uninformed price complaints, but please... Comparing this professional app to a widely distributed consumer game is silly. This developer's audience is much smaller, so of course the economy of scale makes them set their price accordingly. Supporting customers is expensive, and I know for sure that Rogue Amoeba has only a few employees. Plus, they have built something that simply doesn't exist anywhere else, unlike most copycat first-person shooter games out there. And, the reason this might seem like a "toy" to the unschooled is that it is a well-made GUI which controls a very complex set of functions. For comparison, just try installing and administering a SHOUTcast server, which only works with the crappy Audion. [alert admin]

BugManager 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)
Hey, this is a good idea. Thanks for making it freeware. I beta-test software and always need to submit my bug reports. I'd like to use your app but it needs an export function. Perhaps by selecting bug(s) in the list and copying (command-C). Or "Export selected bugs to clipboard". HTH! [alert admin]

Logitech MouseWare 4.0.2 (Mac OS 9)
3 and it failed to remove or replace the old extension (or was it the Control Panel?). It would not remember any settings. So I trashed the old one and all is hunky-dory now. [alert admin]

gURLfriend 2.2 (Mac OS 9)
my life MUCH easier. It's a great program, that does exactly what it says it does, efficiently and accurately. However, there is a bug in version 2.2 to watch out for (He's working on a fix as of 11/00). It is simple to work around... I've described this in more detail at: http://www.silentway.com/tips/mac/linkslist.html The output file is missing one character in the first tag which throws the rest of the HTML out of whack. The closing bracket is missing from the first comment: " after the " New Site--> From Folder... function. Select the root folder that contains your html pages. (Not the folder that contains your components, etc or the enclosing folder.) You know you did it right if it automatically selects your Site file in the lower portion of the import dialog box. The problem occured for me on a few pages that had triple-nested tables. (a table within a table within a table.) This is a weird design choice anyway. To avoid this, before importing your site, open it in GL4 and reposition your tables temporarily so there are no nested tables. After importing into GL5, you can move them back. Otherwise, the html file will be corrupted and will not display in GL5 (although it seemingly displays fine in browsers). They are developing "a script" (Apple Script?) that you will be able to run on corrupted files and it will fix them. They estimated that it will be ready in late January.
