Picasa 2.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Forget iPhoto

I envy my parent's mac quite a bit, but I feel a lot better now that I have Picasa. I like it much better than iPhoto (from whate I've seen of it) and it definitely looks better - I love all the smooth special effects! [alert admin]

Okay, how long…

has OSX been out? And IE has been the default browser that whole time? And it's only gone up 0.2 versions? Apple should seriously re-evaluate this... I'd say Microsoft needs to do any of three things: 1) recode in Cocoa; 2) conform to HI guidelines, 3) actually update the darn thing to even half as good as the Windows version. I'd be happy with any of these things... I only keep it on my machine because every couple of months I come accross a site that not Chimera nor Omniweb nor Mozilla nor iCab can display correctly... and usually at that point IE can't either, but hey, I gotta keep my options open [alert admin]

Risk 1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

It's a fun…

game, but this is a lame version of it. It looks like it was ported from Shockwave or something. But mostly I just don't want any game that takes up all of my screen. Give me windows or give me boredome. But they'd need to clean up the interface as well as the game play to make this game worth anything. [alert admin]

I'm holdin' out…

for tabbed browsers. I mean, other than being Cocoa (which to me is a BIG selling point), Omniweb doesn't offer much that other browsers don't also offer. [alert admin]

Yeah, it looks…

nice, but this has been on Windows for like 2 years or so, I'm sure they have more features than we do in which case that's just lame. If not, then thats even lamer - there are many things that ought to be changed. For instance, whether the foreground or background or both are dimmed, the bubbles are just as bright. It would also be great if some of these fish were different sizes. A trigger fish is like 1000 times as big as a damsel, so at least SOME difference in size would be nice. I don't know... this screen saver just seems so stagnant to me. But it DOES look good, I'll give it that. [alert admin]

NoteBook 2.0.3 (Mac OS X)

I love the…

previous versions of this app - I still use 2.0.2, but THIS version is horrible. Just resizing the window would freeze the app. Also the toolbar is gone and if I choose to show it from the menu, nothing happens. There's a button for "links" which I am totally clueless about (why not just include links like any other note?) and I no longer see a way to access all my other notes. Only the currently selected one is shown. What gives? I hope it's just my system that this is happening to [alert admin]

Netscape X 7.0 (Mac OS X)

Well, I like…

Mozilla so technically I like this too since it is EXACTLY the same. I thought at first, however, that Netscape had given us some added features, because one of the new features listed is Full Screen Mode. Mozilla 1.1 added this feature too... but only for Linux. Aparently it's the same deal for Netscape, they just didn't bother to exclude the new Linux features from their list. And I don't like that at all. [alert admin]

Pads 2.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Does this have…

a service to take notes? Cuz that's the feature I most desire in a note taking program, ya know? [alert admin]

MP3 Browser 0.97 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Hey, sjonke. That's…

a problem with iTunes. Use any other mp3 player and they won't recognize iTunes info either. But if you use mp3s created from ANY OTHER program (even windows/linux/whatever programs) MP3 Browser will read their id3 info as will Audion or MALtX or any other mp3 player. Peronally I think it's a deliberate act on behalf of microsoft to discourage people from using other software. Wait, did I say microsoft? I'm sorry, I meant Apple. The two are acting so much the same recently that I get them confused. [alert admin]
