SilverFast Ai STUDIO 6.5.5r4 (Mac OS X)

Once again, an "update" of one of the most bug-ridden pieces of software on my 3 gig, Leopard-loaded Mac Pro, just got more buggy. I'm scanning with a Nikon CoolScan 5000. Downloaded and installed the 6.5.6r4 update today in hopes the good developers at LaserSoft Imaging, who seemingly produce Mac versions of SilverFast products as an afterthought, fixed the bugs in version 6.5.5r3. Nope, version 6.5.5r4 doesn't just hang itself up, it will hang up your entire Mac Leopard System requiring a forced restart of the computer. If you trash the LaserSoft preferences frequently—like each day you use the program—it seems slightly more stable, but that doesn't seem like it should be a necessary step for using an expensive software package. DEVELOPERS -- PLEASE FIX THIS SOFTWARE AND TEST IT BEFORE RELEASE. I'm a full price paying customer not a beta tester! Thank you. [alert admin]
