Front Row Controller 1.0 (Mac OS X)
It doesn't work. I am using a Nokia 6600 and I cannot make selections or use the keyboard or joystick to make other choices. [alert admin]

I paid the shareware fee for Proteus because it used to be much better than Adium on all sorts of levels - nicer interface, more stable. Alas, I cannot connect with Proteus anymore - I am behind a firewall and something must have changed but Proteus tech support has not responded to my pleas - and so I had to turn to Adium which connects fine. In addition Adium has OTR and since I am in an organisation which has a policy allowing them to monitor IM conversations I am happier with Adium. Adium has also improved a great deal. I am hoping Proteus resolves some of its problems so I can go back to it because it was a nice programme - stable with a solid feature set. [alert admin]

I gave a fairly negative review to the program a while back because it wasn't stable and wasn't refreshing some sites properly. I must say that the developer has worked on it and it seems much more stable. Furthermore the addition of the ability to download podcasts is very welcome. As I said previously it has a beautiful interface. [alert admin]

iPodder 2.0 (Mac OS X)
I have tried several other podcast clients and this one seems to be the best of them and unlike many of its competitors iPodder is free! The only criticism, albeit a minor one, I would have is that it is a large program and I get the impression it is something of a memory hog - though this is only an impression - and it takes an age to start. It is, however, reliable and solid. [alert admin]

NewsFire 1.0 (v26) (Mac OS X)
The program is a joy to use, but it is very unstable. It was just now operating in the background and crashed. It has done so several times since I got it - and paid the registration fee! - yesterday evening. I hope the programmer fixes it because, when it is working, I enjoy using it. Until this happens I am tempted to stick with the free NetNewsWire Lite. [alert admin]
