CtoFB3 is a very useful tool for converting C code to FutureBASIC. This comes in very handy when converting Apples C Header files to FutureBASIC. Previously, all of this would have had to been done by hand. Using CtoFB3 will save you hours in conversion. There will still be some things that will have to be converted manually, but this tool will take care of a large chunk of it for you. I'm looking forward to the CtoFB4 version. [alert admin]

TWM is a must have addition for FutureBASIC programmers. It's so good, I consider it a companion procuct for the new FutureBASIC 4. TWM allows you to easily draw your FB apps GUI and then generates the FB code automatically. You can have TWM generate a FutureBASIC project or individual files. You can then use the generated code as is our modify it to suit your needs. TWM can also import FutureBASIC source files, PG Pro projects, or other TWM projects. TWM will pay for itself in about an hour of use. And an added benefit is its ability to teach you about GUI coding. Just review the code generated from a GUI you build, and you will learn the code behind GUI building. With all it offers, it's price is a bargain you should not pass up. [alert admin]

For Macintosh Carbon development, FutureBASIC cannot be beaten. For one thing, it has been around for as long as the Mac and has been used to develop all types of applications. FutureBASIC will take you from a novice programmer, through intermediate and into expert level Macintosh programming without you ever feeling like you've outgrown the product. It's programming structure is easy to understand and implement, and yet it provides power that other Mac BASIC IDE's cannot obtain. FutureBASIC truly provides the power of C with the ease of BASIC. I've used FutureBASIC for over 12 years. Even though I've learned a number of other programming and scripting languages and environments, FB is the only one I stick with. Why? Because it has the power to create any type of app I want, but remains very fun and enjoyable to use. If you are intereseted in programming the Mac, you won't find a better development environment available. One other thing -- check out Bernies TWM (The Window Maker) for a great CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering) tool for creating your GUI. This app, written in FB, allows you to construct your GUI, and then generates clean, fast FB code for you automatically. it's a great companion to FB -- one you'll not want to be without.
