Fetch 5.5.1 (Mac OS X)

Upgrades are only $10

Just to clarify - for licensed users of older versions of Fetch, the upgrade to Fetch 5.5.1 is only $10, not $29. ($29 is the price for completely new licenses.) We have updated the product description here on VersionTracker to make this clearer. I listed the main improvements in Fetch 5 over Fetch 4 in my direct reply to Sean's comment. We have been careful not to remove functionality while adding new features, but you can always try the Fetch upgrade for free for 15 days and make sure you like it and think it's worth upgrading. If you have any questions, problems, or feedback about the new version, just contact our support and we'll help out. Scott McGuire Fetch Softworks [alert admin]

No Thanks

Sean, Thanks for being a long-time Fetch user! To clarify, for licensed users of older versions of Fetch such as yourself, the upgrade to Fetch 5.5.1 is only $10, not $29. ($29 is the price for completely new licenses.) And yes, we've made lots of improvements to Fetch since version 4.0.3. Some of the improvements are droplet shortcuts (drag files to an icon in your Dock or on your Desktop to upload to a…

Fetch backs up shortcuts when upgrading; support will help if there are problems

Fetch 5.1 uses a new shortcut format, and we made every effort to make sure shortcuts from previous versions are upgraded properly. But just in case, Fetch 5.1 does keep a backup of your shortcuts before it attempts to upgrade them; so even if there is a problem, the Fetch 4 version of your shortcuts should still be there, unmodified. If anyone encounters a problem with their shortcuts not appearing properly after they upgrade to…

Doesn't work on Intel Mac Pro

The version of Mac OS X that shipped with the Mac Pros has a bug in it that causes Fetch to crash. We have been told by Apple engineering that this bug will be fixed in a forthcoming system update; unfortunately there is not a way for us to work around the problem. In the meantime, Fetch 5.0.5 works fine on the Mac Pros and we advise Mac Pro users to download and use it…

5.1b1 wouldn't use my shortcuts

This problem should be fixed in 5.1b2. If you think you lost shortcuts or passwords when you ran 5.1b1, first you will have to go to your Preferences folder and delete the com.fetchsoftworks.Fetch.Shortcuts.plist file, and then run 5.1b2 to re-run the conversion. Please let us know if you see further problems with shortcuts. --Scott McGuire, Fetch Softworks.
