EasyEnvelopes 1.0.4 (Mac OS X)

Love it but,

I love it, but I wish it was smaller. It takes up 1/4 of my dashboard if I leave it open. Everything except the recipients address seems superfluous. It works well and comes in handy although I can't leave it open all the time so it takes an extra step b/c of its size. [alert admin]

Cocktail 3.7.2 (Mac OS X)

Keychain

Can someone explain to me why cocktail asks to access my Keychain when I launch it. I don't like that, make it stop unless there is a damn good reason. [alert admin]

iStat nano 1.45 (Mac OS X)

Good product

Great offering. The best widget I have found for computer monitoring. Temp. Sensor doesn't work on my G3 ibook (700MHZ 16VRAM 10.4.6). [alert admin]

BibDesk 1.2.6 (Mac OS X)

yes

If you use BibTex you need this program. If you don't, you need to use bibtex so you can use this program. Anyone who uses LaTeX at all. This makes references management a breeze. I don't know how I would get along without it. Thanks. [alert admin]

Locker Widget 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Great Utility

Now I don't have to keep the fast user switching option in my menu bar just for this. Thanks. Works great. [alert admin]

Duhbya's Days Are Numbered 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Awesome

Great widget. Very funny. The backside is pretty lame though. Would like to see it with different Bushism's or a selection of stupid Bush faces instead. [alert admin]

BitTorrent 4.3.0 (Mac OS X)

Little buggy

Little buggy. Resumes sometimes hang on filecheck. Stops sometimes hang and won't allow you to restart. Where is the UPnP hiding? My router doesn't show the settings and I can't find any config preference. [alert admin]

Hyperon 1.0 (Mac OS X)

$20 are you joking?

Seems like if one person paid for it the developer would be over paid for putting a GUI on a one line script. To run a screensaver module on the desktop, type this command into an active Terminal window (don't close the window if you want to terminate it easily): "/System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background &" original source: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20020824082233907 or freeware (any of these will do this for free) Backlight (recommended) Desktop Effects Background Sceensaver Screensaver as Desktop Moving desktop Screensaver Desktop bgscreensaver Strikesoft Desksaver You are joking trying to charge $20 for an function that at least 8 freeware apps do and is easily executed on the command line right? Cool, but not obvious. Love it though. It can now permanently live in my dashboard. Thanks

$20 are you joking?

Write something original and not offered for free or find a new line of work. I sincerely hope no one has paid for this product.

Shareware are you joking

If you still have the window open type "cmd-c" If you have closed it type "ps -x" look for the process that looks like /System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background. Then type "Kill pid" where the pid is the number that proceeds that listing in ps -x.

sudo

You need root access to renice a process. Use "sudo renice 20 pid" and then type your password at the prompt. Reniceing to 20 may cause it to be too jumpy you will probably have better luck with 18 or so (sudo renice 18 pid)

erm

A variable should not be assumed to exist unless it does. 4y or y4 (esp the former) should be interpreted as an expression unless y4 exists as a variable. I know this is a bad example b/c it costs $100 but this is the way Mathematica interprets the input and I think is a good way to do it. Anyway my point remains... even if it interprets it as a variable it should not hang the…
