You Control: Desktops 1.3.1 beta 1 (Mac OS X)
You Software has said that they will not be developing You Control: Desktops any further. It does not work with Snow Leopard and there are no plans to do anything about it. What a shame - the app is indeed what Spaces should have been. I am now forced to use Spaces and I am finding it very clumsy in comparison. There appear to be no third-party virtual desktop apps - a great pity given the Unix underpinnings of OS X. [alert admin]

Missing Sync for Windows Mobile 4.0 (Mac OS X)
Superb! No need for email sync! ![]()

A superb app. I have been using the beta since it came out and it has faultlessly enabled me to sync my WM6 device with my Mac. I have one question for those moaning about email sync. Why? If you used more useful protocols like IMAP you wouldn't need to sync email at all. Evey computer, device, client, whether web based or client based like Entourage, is kept in sync automatically. POP3 is old hat, Exchange is a Microsoft proprietary protocol. Enough said. [alert admin]

LocationChanger 0.4 (Mac OS X)
I have been using the excellent Location X for some time now. I am not happy, however, that Location X is the only PowerPC app I am running on my MacBook. I have been looking around for a replacement and have found this utility, LocationChanger. LocationChanger consists of a couple of Unix scripts and an installation utility. It wants to install into /usr/local/bin, but I decided to use /usr/local/sbin since something else I had installed previously had set up that directory. I opened locationchanger in TextEdit and changed the otions to suit the networks I connect to. There is a handy utility called locationinfo which tells you all the important information about your network you need to fill in the details in locationchanger. Once the parameters have been correctly set, you run the installation utility. Each time your Mac encounters a new network it will run locationchanger and make the changes you specified to your machine. This is not really a utility for beginners - you do need to know a little about sudo and editing Unix scripts. I notice that the developer wants to make a GUI front-end to the app which would make it very useful to a wider range of users. The great thing for me is that I am now completely rid of PowerPC apps! Harmony Remote 5.3.2.10 (Mac OS X)
I can now program my Harmony 850 with my MacBook. All I did was trash the old all in the applications folder and install the new app - I didn't need to do anything else. [alert admin]

Any possibility of a MS XP version? Maybe some other title as good? ![]()

There is an XP app called imediaman (http://www.imediaman.com/) which looks very similar indeed to Delicious Library. Don't know if the databases are compatible though.
