PhoneSaber 1.0 (iPhone)
This is an excellent demo of the motion sensor in the iPhone. The sounds it makes matches the amount of movement. You get choice of 5 different color lightsabers. I like to use it with the volume turned all the way up. Since we can't have a real lightsaber, it's the next best thing. My 5-year old son loves it too. He goes crazy and I'm sure my iPhone is going to go flying out of his little hands one of these days. Ways the experience can be improved: - add subwoofer - make iPhone speaker 10x louder [alert admin]

Xee 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Fast, fast, fast... for one specific function ![]()

Pros: This is the fastest slideshow by far! Browsing and showing off hundreds of images is fast and easy. For people who don't like to wait while the computer pulls up, decodes, and displays the next image (especially for 12 megapixel files from Canon EOS 5D), this is the program we've been looking for. I don't know how Xee displays so fast, but I don't really care. The image displayed is high-quality so I don't see any speed/quality tradeoffs. Cons: it only does slideshows. Ok, this is not even really a con. Just don't expect it to do anything else, and you'll be very happy. I use the Finder to display the thumbnails and Xee picks up the slideshow from the file dropped on it. If an entire folder is dropped on it, Xee starts from the beginning. Bonus pro: author made is freeware. This is the kind of work I want to donate for. Since we are not coerced into paying for it, I'm extremely glad to send some $$$ the author's way. [alert admin]
