magnetiX 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Very good Mac version!

I actually own a couple of the original, shrink-wrapped games, and it's great to have the old Magnetic games back in a Max OS X-style package - though there are a couple of interpreters, this one certainly feels the best. [alert admin]

pdf-Recover Professional 3.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Very useful for indexing pdf collection.

Quite useful and worth the money. I'm using Devon Think with a rather large collection of pdf files, with protected pdf files I couldn't benefit from the indexing in either Devon Think or Mac OS X (and that's going to be even more important in upcoming Tiger). Strangely enough, the version numbering in Versiontracker is only slowly catching up with what my version of pdf-Recover is. I already have version 3.0.4, obtained via online update, and the Versiontracker number has just been updated to only 3.0.2. For a while, there was an even larger gap between version 2.x in Versiontracker and the actually available version 3.x... [alert admin]

Airfoil 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Password protected speakers?

It's great software. I'ld love to not have to deal with the 2 seconds delay in audio playing, but that's hardware related... but why is there no support for password protected speakers? [alert admin]

NewsTicker 0.98b (Mac OS X)

Very nice, but...

Does not yet support foreign encodings. As a "news" ticker for the german language, it's not really fun to read. Otherwise this would be added to my startup applications immediately. [alert admin]

Tofu 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)

Great, indeed...

This is truly unique, finally I know what to do with my widescreen... ;) No joking, this is the best fast viewer for any text file! But please, please don't let this app open an empty window on every launch or icon-click (at least make it configurable)! [alert admin]

Panic strikes again...

I like Panic's applications, which show a great dedication to the Mac OS X look-and-feel and usability. Have bought Transmit and will most likely do so with Unison after my still running trial period runs out. Few issues: Occasionally crashing, font appearances is different to e.g. Apple's Mail.app for my favorite fonts (Myriad Pro, an .otf font, for message lists, or Andale Mono for message text... this can be observed for other fonts as well) [alert admin]

PDFpen 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Very good start!

In combination with the new image compression features of Panther, this application does cover most of my ever-day-tasks I used to use Acrobat for (and for that purpose, the price tag is reasonable). It's a bit slow, but it's a great version 1.0. [alert admin]

Homeland Alert 3.0 (Mac OS X)

And 1984 won't be like 1984?

The Bush administration is about to make up for those "lost" 20 years. Don't you see, what's happening? Why do people "thinking different" give 5 stars rating to an application like this one? [alert admin]

Easy to use and works VERY well.

Sorry. Good concept but Crashes EVERYTIME on various G5's and G4's. Works fine with about less than 10 photos. If i try 40 or more, it crashes. Gets to about 60% and crashes. Bummer cause it seems promising.
