Adobe Lightroom 1.0b4 (Mac OS X)
If you've used a previous release, but could not bear the slow performance, Try it again. Importing is much faster, still could be better, but at-least it will finish in one sitting. Also the previews are about twice as fast on my imac g5. My main gripe is that it needs to be faster when making changes in "development" bridge is still much more efficient. also the changers to the interface are better. but still not there. They added some neat interface stuff too, like on the curves graph when you roll over the curve the graph shows what tonal values will be affected. It's miner but could be useful for beginners. Still needs a lot of work but it's getting much more usable. I Might start using it now along with Bridge. [alert admin]

Linotype FontExplorer X 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Great interface, Fast, Reliable, the light at the end of the font management tunnal. Good busness modle too, seems to me that the built in font store is where Linotype makes there profit. It's well implemented, in that is stays out of the way, like the iTunes music store. Wonder if that where thay got the idea... hmmmm. Great app hands down. Thanks for finaly doing it right. Can You Raed Tihs? 1.0.0 (Mac OS X)
First off i'm have ADD but more relevant here I'm dyslectic. This is scary, over the years i have managed to more of less overcome my dyslexia (i now read and right slower then most but normally). The Crazy thing is that i find words "ciphered" this way to be easier to read smoother, like i don't have to think wile reading. this however only works some of the time. I find small words like "tihs" and "raed", no trouble but longer words like "trouble" frequently impossible to read. This may be b/c 1st and last letters are not the only one that need to be swopped... scratch that, reverse it. The orangemen of the letters in the middle does matter. Though they do not need to be in order. Also i frequently read using the Shape of a word "Brooklyn" is much easier to read then "BROOKLYN". It's a cool tool though, and a interesting concept. But, good god man, Where's the Spell Check?!? [alert admin]

Apple Aperture 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Where have you been all my life
This looks fantastic. I didn't see anything about cataloging offline files though, (you know so you can preview img's that are not on the hd) anyone see anything about this. it's the one reason i use Portfolio insted of iPhoto. Looks great though, realy sharp ;) Wish the sys requ worn't so high though. i just ordered the new 1.9ghz iMac and i'm just going to meet minimum system. My only worry there is that if/when thay release Aperture 2.0 i may be left behind. do i realy won't to start cataloging my img's with an app i my not be able to run for more then a year or 2. Although i guess with "macintels" on the way, i'll have to deal with that soon anyway. BTW this is not a Photoshop replacement, if you think it is, you probably don't really need Photoshop. Apple Security Update 2005-002 (Mac OS X)
Not %100 shore if it was this update, except that i haven't install anything els since. Safari is having trouble loading sites. when i go to a site, after a wile i'll get the server not found dialog. When i click reload, the page loads fine, but sometimes it won't load at all. i have another computer that i didn't update and safari has not trouble at all on it. the problem is so frequent that I'm using firefox now. I keep my tibook in good condition, clean, well organized, and running repair permissions regularly, so I'm quite shore this update is the cause. [alert admin]

NoteTaker 1.9 (Mac OS X)
I've been looking at this for a wile now but have a question about it. How does this differ from Microsoft Word 2004's Notebook feature? Aside from miner ease of use and the fact that NT looks like a real notbook (spiral binding). What features does this have that Word doesn't? I don't what to pay $60 for somthing i already have. Thanks [alert admin]
