DiskTracker 2.4.1b1 (Mac OS X)

Great little program!

I have used DiskTracker for years now. It is simple, easy to use and, until recently, was pretty much bullet proof. Snow Leopard threw in some unexpected kinks, but the developer was very responsive to inquiry, got right on it, and we're now back in business. I don't agree with the previous reviewer that the interface needs to become more glitzy. When something works so well for the purpose intended and doesn't require an extensive manual to figure it out, why mess with it? Highly recommended. [alert admin]

Snail Mail 1.7 (Mac OS X)

Great little one-trick pony

This little app does one thing only, but does it very well. It prints envelopes. Easy integration with Address Book, prints bar codes, and allows one to enter an address which is not in the Address Book. And, did you notice, it's FREE! [alert admin]

INtex Labels vX 2.1 (Mac OS X)

WARNING!! Does NOT work with US Avery Labels

My in-laws purchased this program, and had trouble with it. Unless you go to the developer's site, you will not know that label sizes apparently only pertain to the EU. None of the Avery numbers appear to be US equivalents. In their 80's, they should not have to start designing custom label sizes. (I verified the difficulty on my father-in-law's laptop.) They contacted the vendor and, so far, he has refused to refund their money. Check out SOHO Labels & Envelopes. It is an elegant little program with GREAT support from the vendor. Very easy to use. Only consider Labels vX if you are in Europe and don't mind dealing with an awkward interface. [alert admin]
