Curio 5.0 (Mac OS X)
Great Application Keeps Getting Better ![]()

This is a great application, and one really oriented towards the visual person (about 80% of us in the USA). For best practices, use a tablet with it. I have used it in meetings, on conference calls, for presentations. It just works! I am using the Pro edition, and the upgrade to 5.0 is free! I love the support the company gives, and a free full-version upgrade is a rare and beautiful thing these days. I highly recommend this software. [alert admin]

Bee Docs Timeline - 3D Edition 2.1 (Mac OS X)
Was sceptical, but this is a great upgrade
I was a little sceptical about upgrading to the 3-D version of timeline; the 2-D version was meeting all my needs. But having installed it, this is version has wonderful additions. The 3-D effects are stunning. Very much in keeping with the ahead-of-the-curve aspects of macintosh presentations. I also love the new export features: Finally, I can export to keynote -- in 3-D -- and with a click I can make a HD movie for appleTV. The trial is a little limited, but if you want to see more about the program, the developer has made a movie available here.

EyeTV 3.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Okay, I have been a EyeTV user for many years now. But the move, maybe one should say pre-mature move, to version 3 has been very disappointing. I have stuck with version 2. However, I do have an Intel macbook pro, so I am wondering: Has Elgato got its act together about version 3 yet? Should I look into upgrading? Users of version 3, please let me know. Thanks [alert admin]

SRS iWOW 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Version 2 is a paid upgrade from Version 1
The upgrade cost of moving from version 1 to 2 is $11.99. Based on the early reviews, i think I'll wait. [alert admin]

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0.6000.16512 (Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
Incredibly long version number: What?
What kind of version number is this: 7.00.6000.16512, etc. WOW, how many updates does Microsoft plan? I really wish version numbering would go back to significant changes to the software, and not just every issuance of a typo correction or security breach. Those can be handled separately. Textures 2.2.0b0 (Mac OS X)
Beta only available to registered users
I have heard a lot about Textures, and do a lot of LaTeX writing. When I heard that textures was finally available for OSX and had moved into Beta, I was excited to finally be able to try it. But alas, the Beta is only for registered users of their older software. Maybe the final release will have a trial license. [alert admin]

1Passwd 2.4.2 (Mac OS X)
For those of you who may have won this program from Mac heist, this is NOT A FREE UPDATE. Once loaded, you will have to purchase 1Password. It is an excellent program, and their is a 20 percent discount. But you might also want to be aware of this. [alert admin]

I here your comments. The problem is that I simply cannot try textures without a serial number. As they are not allowing people to try before they buy, I think the critiques are well founded to help customers know whether or not they want to pay without testing.

Beta only available to registered users
Beta still only available to test for registered users. But hey "If you don't already own Textures 2.1, you can buy an individual copy of Textures 2.2 here, for the beta price of $129 (US), which includes all updates up to and including the release version."

I agree on all points. I wish they offered a person (scripts not for resale) license for those of us just looking for something better then Script Editor.

Mark, I think the issue here is not whether to upgrade or not, but what constitutes a rational for upgrading. The current policy for Eastgate is that you buy the program, then you rent an upgrade license good for one year. Depending on when you purchased your upgrade license you may or may not be able to upgrade for free, and the quantity of upgrades may or may not be significant one depending upon the…

It is indeed FREE! The developer uses esellerate to register the product but the cost is $0.00 and there is no charge or credit card needed. To the developer, thank you. Cheers

I agree. I understand the advertising capacity of versiontracker for letting us know about new software, but this is clearly something that should be a banner ad rather then an announcement page.

Thanks for the explanation.
I have been a long time supporter of Monty and now knowing that this is actually a bundle intrigues me to purchase it. I also have to agree that Freeverse's networking is some of the best. Love it in squabble.

As an addendum, I have since purchased the product. Like I wrote above, I will use it a lot for writing and I love the assemble document function. It even beats Notetaker here.
