Crystal 2.4.9f (Mac OS X)

Great VST and AU Instrument.

I really love the sounds that come out of Crystal. Although some patches sound gimmicky most are top notch and really cut through analog synth pads. If you are making music with DAW's and Virtual Instruments then Crystal should be in your list of Virtual Instruments. Make sure to download and install the 20MB soundfont file and the extra presets. They are worth the time it takes to download and install them. Best of all this cool synth if free! Crystal beats a lot of synths that cost money so for free Crystal is a must have! Kudos to the developers! [alert admin]

RadioRocker 1.2.4 (Mac OS X)

It Works!

Finally a version that works on my eMac! Most of the listed stations are pretty much dead but there some live ones out there. I will have to think about getting this program! [alert admin]

RadioRocker 1.1.3 (Mac OS X)

Still Not Working on G4 eMac

I have given up trying to get this program to work under my G4 eMac. It works flawlessly on my MacBook and that will have to be good enough. I have no other problems with programs that try to access similar media on my G4. I still consider this a great program but I will not put down the cash until I can get it to work on my G4. The great thing is that the developer is always updating the program so a working version for the G4 might not be far off. Still, highly recommended! [alert admin]

RadioRocker 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Still Not Working on G4 eMac

While it runs just fine on my intel MacBook it still gives me the "Stream Unavailable" message when I click on any station on my G4 eMac. My G4 and Intel Mac are configured almost the same as far as media plug-ins are concerned and despite all my tweaking I cannot get it to play any audio. Still it is a killer program with a killer price. Highly recommended! [alert admin]

RadioRocker 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

I really like this program!

While it works fine on my intel MacBook I still cannot get it to run correctly on my G4 eMac. I really like the number of stations available. Besides the problems with the G4 I think the program could do without checking on all the stations each time you click on a state. I don't think they have changed that much in the last 10 minutes. Once every hour or at every launch would be fine. Of course this is really a non issue on faster Macs. I plan on purchasing this program as soon as I can afford the 10 fee which I consider an excellent price. It still needs a few bug fixes and some sanding around the very few rough edges it has but this is a great program and the developer is quick to react. [alert admin]

RadioRocker 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Won't Run

Looks like a very interesting and useful program. Too bad it does not work. I have not tried it on my intel mac but on my g4 running 10.4.11 it just crashes without a dialog on launch. Hardly a 1.0 release. [alert admin]

MacBornes 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Old game made new again.

I first ran into this game back in my Commodore64 days and loved it from the start. Over the years there has been a few releases of this game to the Mac platform. Some where nice some were.....well.....not very good. This game is one of the best I have seen and when comparing it back to the C64 version shows the best form of flattery is to beat the original and this game does just that. The added bonus of being able to customize the game and keeping the game freeware, like the C64 version was is top notch. This is the best version of the miles bornes genre and recommending it is a no brainer. A truly top notch product! [alert admin]

LeopardAssist 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Still A No Go

I was hoping that the new version would work on my 800Mhz eMac since I am only 67mhz shy of the limit but the Leopard install still knows I have only 800Mhz. Maybe the next version will fix this problem. [alert admin]

LeopardAssist 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Just what I was waiting for......and I am still wating!

I was hoping for a program like this to come out as I did not want to edit and reburn the Leopard DVD, reformat and use Target Disk Mode or Overclock my Mac. As promising as it sounded it just did not work. I followed the directions and it still reported my Mac as 800mhz and Leopard knew it. I even tried a few things that I thought might help. Nada, Leopard knew the correct speed everytime. I just I can wait to see if the next upgrade works or just bite the bullet and whip out the MacBook Core Duo and put the old Mac in target disk mode. Either that or whip out the canned air and soldering gun and have a go at those jumpers. [alert admin]

Virex 7 DAT 070829 (Mac OS X)

Who needs it!

I think if Mac users actually needed a decent virus checking program we would have one.....we don't. The only thing that comes close is ClamAVX. When I upgraded my eMac to tiger I thought I would not be able to use it as it was slow as a kid on the short yellow school bus. I found that Virex was eating most of my cycles. Once removed, my eMac running Tiger was as fast as it was running Panther. I had hoped that when it was renamed McAfee that it would run better. Alas that is all that happened, it was just renamed. My computer screeched to a halt once it was installed. I have only run into one Mac virus in my life and that was on OS 5 and it was a lame virus that did no harm. Demand something decent if you want AV for Mac. [alert admin]

I tried it on my 800Mhz eMac with Superdrive model. The one with the Nvidia graphics card. Looking forward to trying the updated version to see if it works.

It does what it says on the tin

What did you do to get it to install? I followed the directions and it never fooled the leopard install disc.

Not so Lame Users

I am a Microsoft Certified System Engineer and I think that Microsoft deserves a little bashing now and then. It is nice that they are including something that will let their content work on other platforms. Many of their content creation tools will make content that can only be viewed on a Windows machine running Internet Exploorer. One of the biggest uses of this was a complaint form on the Microsoft site for people using…

Unfortunate/improper Political Slant

I am a republican and I see nothing wrong with Democracy Player. I am all for free speech no matter who it saying whatever. That even goes for people who voice their dislike for something. I will not make a personal attack on someone for exercising their free speech rights because if you do then you are kind of killing your own point, don’t you think?
