Bento 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Downloaded the trial and was easily able to transfer my old Appleworks databases. So am happy with the software. Not so happy with cost. Downloaded from US site - price $US49 ( = about $A54). But when I purchased it it flicked me to the Australian site and a $A 80 price tag!! Had already spent time on setting up Appleworks files an some others, so I went ahead - but NOT HAPPY. Great applications. Easy to use, but very versatile. Excellent object editing features. Good documentation. Bought it because it supports the DVD tray in my Canon MP970. The support is fantastic! I had a problem installing from the CD (my fault) and I got an instant reply to my email. [alert admin]

How nice to see a program that works well with a very easy to understand interface. Well worth the money. [alert admin]

File Buddy 9.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Unable to get an updated registration number (for new computer) for V9. EMails returned as undeliverable. I assume developer has gone, and an excellent program is now unsupported. I have used V7.5 for some years. [alert admin]

Fish 1.3 (Mac OS X)
One of the best freeware apps I have seen. Works well, looks good and a great price! Version 1.3 runs perfectly with OS 10.2.8. [alert admin]

Neat Image plug-in 4.2 (Mac OS X)
I own a Panasonic FZ 7. Many reviews speak highly of the 12X Leica zoom lens, but downgrade the camera slightly for a higher level of noise than some others. Neat Image deals with this problem, and gives me this best of both worlds. Easy to use with auto profiling or downloadable profiles for most cameras. Not the cheapest alternative but the best for my needs. [alert admin]

Minuteur 4.7.1 (Mac OS X)
Wanting a simple timer to remind me when other jobs were due, I download a selection and this came up tops for neatness, features and useability. (Works well in 10.2.8.) Lacks documentation, but is pretty intuitive in operation. [alert admin]

CocoaBooklet 1.3.2 (Mac OS X)
This is a gem. Just does what it says quickly and reliably. If only all software was as good. We do not need bells and whistles. Prefer things like this that WORK. [alert admin]

I wanted a clipboard manager and Butler seemed to be the best around. Now I have it I have learned to love the other features especially the search bar. Great to customise it to search where I want it. The ease of opening applications and files is great, not to mention having access to bookmarks in all my browsers. And to think it is initially free - I had to donate! [alert admin]
