LoadMyTracks 1.3.1 073 (Mac OS X)

Thank God this is available. Works better than the manufacturers software

I have a USglobalsat BT-335 which is a fantastic GPS data logger but their Mac software is pretty buggy. The worst bug is that once the amount of logged data is over a certain size, the software will just stop downloading. If it weren't for LoadMyTracks, the only option I would have is to locate some PC running Windows so I could access my data. Fortunately, I can just pick the Globalsat DG-100 which works with the BT-335 as well and use LoadMyTracks to download the data. LoadMyTracks also allows me to view elevation profiles generated with my BT-335. The Global Sync 2 software for the Mac has a bug where if the elevation goes below 0 it will output an elevation of 429400 plus meter readings. If I load the same data using LoadMyTracks, it correctly records the elevation as below sea level. [alert admin]

GPSPhotoLinker 1.6.0 (Mac OS X)

Please donate to the developer. This is great software

I've been using this along with a bluetooth data logger and it works great. I've tried a few of the other geotagging apps out there and this is the best of the bunch. I thing Gisteq should bundle this with their device to replace the crap Mac OS X software they developed. Please help keep this software going and donate to the developer. [alert admin]

IPSecuritas 3.1 (Mac OS X)

If it fits your environment it's fantastic

I just got this set up with a Netgear FVS114 and it was easy to set up and works as advertised. [alert admin]

Posterino 1.0 beta 6 (Mac OS X)

What to use when you want to create the best looking life poster

Yes there are methods that exist to make life posters that are entirely free but if you really want to make a poster that looks exactly how you want it to look with minimal fuss this program is the way to go. So far beta 6 seems stable for me and I love the feature set. I particularly like that it's so easy to scale images to fit just the way you want without having to crop pictures first. I also love how you can delete frames and expand images horizontally or vertically to take up multiple slots. This is very cool for pictures that you just don't want to crop in order to fit in to a predetermined slot. Now that making life posters isn't so easy with iPhoto 6, this is the clearly the best way to make life posters that kick ass. [alert admin]

Apple iPhoto 6.0.1 (Mac OS X)

The best keeps getting better.

It just keeps getting better with each revision. Previously I had to break up my photo libraries when they got over a few thousand images because iPhoto would start to really bog down but now I've brought them all together and it's still very fast. I just got a medium soft cover book and it looks fantastic. This is the best update in the iPhoto line in some time. [alert admin]

NeoOffice 1.2b (Mac OS X)

Excellent product, consider making a donation.

This is an excellent product. Since Apple no longer includes Appleworks on the new Intel iMac and I'm not much of a fan of iWork I decided to see what alternatives were available. Granted I haven't spent a ton of time putting NeoOffice through all of its paces but I've been very impressed with the product so far. Excel/Word compatibility alone make this one a keeper. Desktop Manager 0.5.2rc2 (Mac OS X)

Excellent virtual desktops

I love this and it's free unlike the amazingly expensive shareware virtual desktop programs. Nice work only I hope that it the fact that it hasn't been updated for a while doesn't mean it's ceased development. [alert admin]

Galerie 4.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Amazing and free!

For a free program this thing is fantastic. There are a number of great templates included but you can add even more. Anyone using iPhoto who wants to put their pictures on the web should get this ASAP and that includes people with .Mac accounts. [alert admin]

Adobe Reader 7.0.0 (Mac OS X)

Huge improvement over previous versions

Much faster launch and searching as well. The only reason I used preview was that I didn't like to wait for Acrobat to launch. [alert admin]

Nonsense.. Works Fine with Xserves/SCSI

Right. That explains why this is still posted on the Dantz support site and there STILL has not been any fix. Screw Dantz.

TITLE: Mac OS X Server Restart or Crash during tape backup
  Discussion:
Dantz, along with several other software and hardware companies, have been actively investigating Mac OS X Server backup problems reported by customers in the field. The core issue reported is that after a certain period of backup to SCSI-attached tape, the server…

If you have an Xserve, DON'T buy Retrospect

Sorry but they're not quite talking about the same thing. Apple has said that the UL3 works in the xserve as does Tolis. Dantz is never going to fix this. "CSI HBAs that are known to work include the Adaptec 29160 and 39160 PowerDomain controllers (in G4 hardware) and the ATTO UL3 and UL4 controllers (in all hardware). TOLIS Group strongly recommends the ATTO Technologies UL3 and UL4 HBA's for all Mac SCSI installations."

Still no true Exchange client for Mac - zero stars

You say it makes no sense yet you admit that you're moving from Macs to PC's. If you're Microsoft, how can that be bad?
