WindowShade X 4.3b1 (Mac OS X)

OS10.4.11 On Intel MacBook Pro? Wanna Gamble On Yet Another "New" MIP?

I did. I recently upgraded to Windowshade 4.2, and MIP instantly became a nightmarish "feature" making MIPed windows usually disappear completely, much as many other folks here have reported re 4.2. Fortunately I found an old 4.1.2 installer somewhere, made the downgrade, and all is well again in MIPland. Now I should consider trying 4.3b1? Surely you jest! What's up over at Unsanity? C'mon! Flip4Mac WMV 2.2.0.49 (Mac OS X)

Flip4Mac Fails At CNBC Fast Money

the fastmoney section of cnbc.com has embedded videos which I've always had to watch via Windows Media Player. With 2.2.0.9 plugins installed, I can see none at all except a CNBC short logo clip. Removing these plugins allows me to see the videos again. Mac 10.4.11, PPC. Booooooooo! [alert admin]

aacConverter 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Still Works Fine In '05

Two years after release, still converts mp3 to aiff in less than 5 seconds to same directory as original. Other conversions work fine too. iTunes 6.0.1, OS 10.3.9. [alert admin]

Firefox 1.5b1 (Mac OS X)

Listen Up! "b1" stands for first beta version of 1.5.

By definition betas are experimental so you should expect various add-ons you may already have to break unless they have been updated for that particular beta. Don't hold your breath either. Ahead there may be a b3, a b9 and so on. Go back to 1.0.6. Wait for the 1.5 Final plus a few days more for Extensions developers to catch up--and even by then they may not all have. With Firefox it's always wise to wait. [alert admin]
