Sudoku Solver 2.5.5 (Mac OS X)

Product is dead

I tried to buy this product but I was not able to, I mailed the admin of the e-payment site and they replied that the company had gone out of business and that it was no longer possible to buy this .. Shame.. [alert admin]

SudokuX 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Nice

This is good! You can enter your own games and or play one provided! This has advanced features which allows you to detect Wings and Chains etc. This is not as sophisticated as Sudoku Susser but the interface is much better looking. I have not found out how to get it to tell you that you have entered a wrong entry and this is probably the only thing missing. Having said that, it is definitely worth the download. NOTE that if you're not an advanced player you'll probably find it too heavy but if you know what Sudoku is all about, try it out! [alert admin]

SudokuAdept 1.6 (Mac OS X)

Strange problem

I can't test this game because I can't input numbers into the boxes. When I type a number it is automatically set as a candidate but not as a number ? I see no option that toggles between typing in candidates or not ?? This is on 24" Intel iMac ?? It looks like it could be a good game but I can't really test it if I can't type in a solution. Big Bang Reaction 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Don't buy if it is for Sudoku

Here is my email to Freeseve support I have purchased several Freeverse games over the ears and I've been very happy so far, however I'm extremely disappointed in Sudoku for the following reasons: 1) The game occasionally crashes on my Twin G5 Powermac - this has not happened in the last few days. 2) Once playing in NON Windowed mode, you can no longer access the rest of you computer until you exit the game 3) If you hit Apple/Option Esc the game force quits without the standard confirmation question 4) If you wrongly put in a number and then remove it, you loose all your pencil marks 5) You can't switch off the noise and music and still have the program beep if you make a mistake by putting a number in the wrong box 6) It is impossible to disable the stupid obnoxious annoying cretin in the bottom right hand quarter of the screen 7) There is no way to disable the obnoxious, annoying ducks and other animation floating around the screen 8) When playing in non windowed mode, the mouse sometimes goes crazy and the game is no longer playable with all squares highlighting consecutively as if you were floating your mouse around the game. Not the type of game you want on your Mac! [alert admin]

Mystical Sudoku 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Not for today

The colours are very hard on the eyes and so it is difficult to scan. The number entry and the penciled number entry is messy. The guy who wrote the game has never played the game. The options are limited. Not recommended especially not for the price after what I've seen today! [alert admin]

Sudoku Epic 4.34 (Mac OS X)

Worth a try

This is a well put together game. The games themselves are challenging and very interesting. The options are good and it has a mixture of game and solving with different sizes. I think this would be my game of choice for purchase except for ONE big important thing, I can't play it for very long, it annoys my eyes, the game box is not designed for looking at for long periods of time and the colours are terrible to my taste and there is no option to change that. The menu logic is not the best and you have to go to different levels to change options ? WHY not make all choices from one menu bar ? The version I've tried is 4.35 and I think it is definitely worth a try, if they ever change the colours or make it an option, I may buy it ... [alert admin]

Easy Sudoku 1.00 (Mac OS X)

Nice

This is a nice game. I played one game which was impossible to finish without cheating, I've never seen this before. There is nothing negative to say, stopping the clock means putting the game in background but this is only a nag. One feature which is hard to get used to but could be a bonus for those who get confused by penciled in squares, you have a separate window as a scratch pad (see image in the game description) (This should be an option for those who are used to penciled in sqaures) This is worth the money, there are a lot of Sudoku games out there asking for a lot more money and who are not half as good This is NOT a solver, this is a game! I think this is an important distinction to make with Sudoku It is version 1 so I'm looking forward to seeing later versions. [alert admin]

zonSudoku 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Simple but does what it says

This is a very simple game, like it says in the readme. It does what it says. I don't like that you have to click on show errors to see your errors, it should be an option to tell you automatically and I could not find how to pencil in values. The price is right but there are better free options out there. [alert admin]

Web Sudoku Deluxe 1.2.2 (Mac OS X)

Still too young

I don't think this game is worth the purchase yet. - It is butt ugly - It has some additional features but you can't get it to automatically tell you when you type in a wrong value - Once you do click how am I doing to see if you have typed anything in wrong you can't get rid of the colours A nice game but not one to purchase. Sudokumat 5.62 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

A bug

I was quite enjoying a game .. I had validate puzzle switched on, I verified that when I put in a bad entry it would highlight it for me .. Then, towards the end of the puzzle, I realized that there was an invalid entry.. Pity.. For this I have to set the stability to poor and not recommend the product! [alert admin]

Just crashes

Since this message I sent a message to Ben Software who recommended I removed the preference files: I removed these: ~/Library/Preferences/com.bensoftware.SecuritySpy.plist ~/Library/Widgets/SecuritySpy.wdgt ~/Library/Preferences/SecuritySpy Preferences Then as recommended I downloaded http://www.bensoftware.com/ss/beta.html And the software is no longer crashing. Thanks Sebastian Bird

Nice

Note that the input method can be a bit daunting at first but once you're used to it, it is fine!

Nice

I have reviewed the product again. The game now has options to enter your puzzles, play and or solve them. The game is good but unfortunately you cannot type in candidates and therefore is not worthy of purchase. This is a shame because I quite like it!

Don't buy if it is for Sudoku

Further to the mail the game completely locked up during a game and so is unusable.

Lacks one crucial feature, has needlessly complicated UI

I think you should not see this as a game. It is a solver. I don't like it as a game either. I'm not really sure if anyone actually uses this, it is so cryptic .. I'd be interested to see which Sudoku game you play on the Mac, I have to admit that I've not really found one that I like yet!

Excellent but...

It is buggy and it gets 5 stars because it is free ? I would prefer pay for something that works well than to use something free that is shite ?

No longer works.

When I launch the program I get: The DatiAGSM file has been damaged because the proram has been improperly closed. Do you want to use the selected backup! Quit Use Backup NOTE THAT THE SOFTWARE crashes and then gives you this message.
