Incorrect download link for Professional version

This link as well as the link on Adobe's own support site is incorrect for the Professional version of Acrobat. It downloads the Standard version, which will not work on Acrobat Professional. To get the Pro version, go through Acrobat Pro's own Update link under the Help menu. [alert admin]

Yahoo! Messenger 3.0b1r4 (Mac OS X)

WHAT"S NEW IN THIS VERSION?

I have to wonder why Yahoo even bothers at all. It's as if they devote 1 hour a year to developing Yahoo Messenger for Mac. The old Messenger for OS 9 was better and had more features than the new version. Ridiculous. [alert admin]

LivingTime Personal Timeliner 2.0.6 (Mac OS X)

Extremely interesting concept but SO VERY UGLY

This is a great idea and I love the concept, but this app is downright U-G-L-Y. It's obviously Filemaker, but come on, even the templates that come with Filemaker are pretty good looking and glossy. This app is just downright UGLY. Sorry. [alert admin]

Dantz Retrospect client 6.1.130 (Mac OS X)

6.1.130 client does not stay active

I've installed this latest client on dozens of Macs running Tiger (all latest updates as of 8/4/06). The Retrospect client does not stay active if the computer is rebooted or logs out. My retrospect logs all show that each of these clients has not been backed up and the client is running. WTF!? Now I have to revert to an earlier client. [alert admin]

MarketBlast 1.11 (Mac OS X)

Not Ready For Prime Time

I've tried using MB since version 1.05 through 1.11. I used the DEMO and took the online class and have been following the online forum hosted by 4D. I thought I could make this thing work, especially after taking the class. After weeks of trying I gave up. This app is clearly not ready for primetime. I'd almost have to call it a Beta. It's ease of use is hardly easy, it's not intuitive at all. It doesn't even support simple drag and drop functionality. After I plunked down my $99 in the hopes that the 4D team would surely develop and evolve this product to it's full potential, I've been sorely disappointed. The 4D team is really good and quick to respond to most user's questions or requests. But the app MarketBlast still just doesn't work well for an average user who wants to put up listings on ebay and manage sales in a simple understandable way. I've contacted 4D via email and phone to request a refund and deactivation of my license code, but all I get are run around phone calls and with the time difference (east coast/west coast) it's difficult to sync. Sorry to say I have to rate this a bomb for what I had hoped was a very promisong application for Ebay sales and management. [alert admin]

GarageSale 1.9 (Mac OS X)

The BEST ebay auction software for Mac

I have tried several ebay auction listing apps for Mac, and by far GarageSale is the best. It's simple and intuitive to use yet carries a lot of functionality. And for the price you can't beat it. Even more expensive similar apps out there don't match GarageSale. And their support staff is so on top of every user's issue or feature request. These guys are great. You have a problem, it's fixed in no more than 2 days. [alert admin]

Acquisition 121.6 (Mac OS X)

Java daemon is a CPU hog

I really like Acquisition over Limewire's snail-like and ugly interface. When I first used Acquisition, I was so glad to see it wasn't another Java based ugly application. But then as I used it, I noticed my system would crawl. I checked out the my CPU activity and Acquisition uses a Java backend whihc was hogging on average 70% of my CPU. This is unacceptable. It's a great looking and intuitive application, and much better than Limewire, but ya gotta fix the Java backend. In fact why does this even use a Java component at all? Also when I launch Acquisition, connections are iffy. And shtting it down often times stalls and hangs in the shutting down mode, where I need to force quit it from the Terminal. I'd buy this app but not until some of these bugs are worked out. Great app and GUI design otherwise. I'd love to give this a 5-star rating but can't due to these issues. I'll give it a 3-star and hope for some stability and memory fixes. [alert admin]

CalTalk 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Cannot see any other calendars

I set this intriguing bit of software up on 3 Macs, 2 running Panther, 1 running Tiger. I can share each iCal on each Mac but none of them can see each other's shared iCals. Not sure why, Firewalls are all off. I love the idea of this if only it works. I'm sorry I have to give it alow rating, it just doesnt work. [alert admin]

Good Product, but it should be un-restricted

The GarageSale guys have given the PRO feature free access since version 1.9
