Xtorrent 1.0 (40) (Mac OS X)
Good potential but no support! ![]()

I like Xtorrent, its Mac interface and ease of use. However I emailed the developer twice and got nothing, not even an automated response. Just like some other users, updating to the last version gets rid of the downloads in progress. Plus when I "check for update" it tells me I'm OK (v40) whereas the current version is v45. So some improvements needed specially on the communication with the user front. [alert admin]

LyricAll 1.0 (Mac OS X)
The transparent black background is not best to read text. Any color should be available with the possibility to make it opaque. The window size is never remembered from one launch to the other. Sometimes the text becomes black (on black background!). [alert admin]

Ringtone Creator 2.3 (Mac OS X)
Don't spend $125 on this, give $30 to Apple instead
- Unjustified high price - Doesn't work - Trial version is not a fully functional version - Non-standard interface You can convert to AMR/3GPP with QuickTime Pro. And for the $30 you will give to Apple, you will get many more features. [alert admin]

PhoneAgent 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)
I, too, would like to say that Peter, the developer, has been very responsive. He even implemented 2 of my requests literally overnight (1.2.1 2005-02-16)! The warning for text exceeding 254 characters in Notes and the standard text navigation commands like cmd-left/right-arrow to go to the beginning or the end of a line. Great product! [alert admin]

StopStart 0.3 (Mac OS X)
I thought this could be of great use for me, I keep Photoshop running all the time as it takes so long to load. However this program is useless in its current form. You have to type the name of the application you want to start or stop. It doesn't give you any feedback on your action except if it doesn't find the app. It could not stop Photoshop for me whether I typed "Photoshop" or "Adobe Photoshop CS". Lots of improvements to be made. great idea otherwise. [alert admin]

Intego Personal Backup X 10.1.0 (Mac OS X)
I've had Personal Backup for a while and I like it's ease of use. However, I've had intermittent trouble booting from the cloned disk. It's a problem if your main drive dies and you want to boot from the clone and it doesn't work! Also a few other bugs, so I was waiting for an update. But paying $40 for it?! I don't think so! On top of that, Intego's tech support has still not replied to a request I emailed to them on April 30, 2003. For now I'm using Carbon Copy Cloner which has worked flawlessly so far. Although the interface is not as elegant, it does the job as it should for much less money ($0.00). [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro X 2.1.3 (Mac OS X)
rather poor rating/review for this product, I'm surprised if not shocked to see that the review disappeared. I think VT is a great product, or rather a great idea, but for $50 or even $20 it should work as it's supposed to. Otherwise make it a freeware. That and the fact that my review was deleted, will certainly not encourage me to recommend the product or renew my subscription. I hope I'll be proved wrong. [alert admin]

Microsoft Office v.X 10.1.2 (Mac OS X)
that the main application I use out of the package (Entourage) still carries bugs over from versions before OS X. Since after this "stealth" update it still bears the same version number, I doubt that anything was even done to fix newer bugs introduced by 10.1.1. Have we come to expect too much from a software package that costs $500? [alert admin]
