Design&Print Studio 1.6.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

app is ok but I can't print output

i read the reviews above and thought i'd give this app a try. i was looking for something that would allow me to produce some postcard-sized promotional material for my business. the layout functionality was ok. a bit awkward but you get what you pay for. thing is, on the demo you can't save or print (i HATE it when companies do that, it's just freaking stupid) so all I could do was play with the layout functionality for a few minutes and then decide if I wanted it or not. I figured it was only $18 so what the heck. Well, it was a waste of $18. The layout came out great so now i'm trying to print my output to a standard Avery postcard page on my color laser printer. Does this app have Avery formats loaded? Nope. Oh well, I'll just manually format the page. Nope, can't do that either. I'm trying to print these things two to a page. I can either get the top one to fit the Avery form, or the bottom one, but not both. Their page setup functionality is too damn rudimentary to allow such a basic setup option. I figured maybe I was missing something so I went through their documentation. These guys have some of the worst doc I've ever seen. Just pathetic. So I call the company hoping to get someone in tech support. I get a machine telling me to send an email. So I go to the company website and fill out a form. they promise to respond within two business days. A week goes by and I haven't heard jack from these jokers. I would strongly advise not giving a penny to these guys. It's two-bit software with two-bit support and worse documentation. [alert admin]

NovaMind 2.4.4 (Mac OS X)

Get it, well worth the money

I've been using NovaMind for about 8 months now. It's simply a great tool with more versatile uses than you'd think. Once you get it and start using it you just naturally come up with more ways to use it. Great at mind mapping, brainstorming, notetaking. I highly recommend it. I use it for business, but imo no college or high school student should be without it. [alert admin]
