Renamer4Mac 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Stick with 2.8

$26 is the developer joking? This is an app that renames files, there is no way it is worth more than $5. I for 1 will be sticking with version 2.8 until the developer gets a grip and puts a reasonable price on this program. While I would recommend version 2.8 to anyone I'm clicking No on Recommend Renamer4Mac below. When the price comes down I will consider recommending this app again. $26... seriously? What were you thinking? [alert admin]

MAME OS X 0.118 (Mac OS X)

Just plain doesn't work...

After a few minutes my iMac had audited my ROM collection, only to come back and report 0 ROMs as good... that pretty much sums it up for me... oh well back to MAME on Windows for me. [alert admin]

Transmission 0.92 (Mac OS X)

0.92

I've been using Transmission for months now and 0.9x is just plain broken. Just now Transmission 0.92 crashed on me while running in the background. I restarted it and a file that was over 900 MB downloaded before the crash was only 190 MB downloaded when Transmission started up again. I find it impossible to recommend Transmission. Radioshift 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Much better than 1.0.1

Stability is much better in this release (I've had no crashes, or the app just becoming unresponsive), now that I've found the "Now playing" button which only lists streams that are up and running I like it a lot more (I'm not sure if this was in 1.0.1 but since the app crashed so much I didn't have time to look). I finally understand why there are links to radio stations that don't have streams, that would be for the Griffin Radio Shark - DUH! Version 1.0.2 is a great update and if you like streaming radio or you have a Giffin Radio Shark I can now recommend purchase of this app. Given the fact the app hasn't crashed on me yet, and I finally understand it more time for an upgraded score... Radioshift 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Almost but not quite

I'm a big fan of Rogue Amoebas apps but Radioshift doesn't deliver. It has become unresponsive many times today, it had plain crashed a few times, and on other occassions it tells me a station is playing but I hear no audio. Also what's the point of listing a heap of stations that don't have streams? Having said that when it does work it works very well. I still went ahead and purchased this app as I belive Rogue Amoeba will get it right in the end. For now though I wouldn't recommend it. I say wait for the next version before you check it out. Speed Download 4.1.14 (Mac OS X)

Just works

I was interested in downloading a heap of Computer Chronicle episodes from the Internet Archive and I was looking for an app to queue them up. I was conisdering installing wget and just doing it all from the command line, or firing up the curl manual and doing it that way but Speed Download popped up in 1 of my Google searches so I thought I'd try the demo. 10 minutes after installing the demo and checking out its features I had to buy it. It's a great app that does everything I want. In fact I feel I haven't even scratched the surface of what this app can actually do, I'll RTFM later on, but for now I say $25 well spent. Great

Does exactly what it says it does, and does it fast. Can't complain about the price either! Well worth the download. [alert admin]

EarthDesk 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Beautiful (and that's the point)

I have tried both OSXplanet and EarthDesk and I have settled on EarthDesk because it is just plain beautiful to look at, and isn't that the point of an app like this? I want something on my desktop that looks amazing and EarthDesk looks absolutely incredible. Great app and well worth the $20. [alert admin]

.91 and .92 are ok!

0.92 just crashed on my machine and a file that was sitting on 900 MB downloaded dropped down to 190 MB downloaded when the app restarted, I'd say things aren't completely fixed yet.

find the good port

You need to pick a port and make sure you have it port forwarded for your router to the machine running Azureus, make sure you port foward both TCP & UDP.

EyeHome and OS X 10.4.2

Sorry I wasn't trying to be rude with my reply, but my OP actually says I've been running the EyeHome for over a year, and I've posted multiple times on here about the various updates. Cheers.

EyeHome and OS X 10.4.2

I've been using my EyeHome for over a year, and it fails with this upgrade so that means it is a network issue? YEAH SURE IT DOES! It is connected via cat5, it doesn't matter now anyway I just upgraded to OS X 10.4.3 and it doesn't work full stop anymore, finally this will force El Gato to upgrade this product, it has been a long time coming!

Low res icon in the dock after launching the app

The icon is back to normal in todays CVS release 2.2.0.1_B14, and if my G5 doesn't kernel panic with this CVS it's all looking good for 2.2.0.1 Stable.
