PithHelmet 3.0b1 (Mac OS X)
b1 doesn't work for me. It's nice to know progress is being made on an update, though. Rick [alert admin]

PithHelmet 2.8.4 (Mac OS X)
Foo! Safari 4 (final) breaks Pith Helmet
The "magic code" that allowed Pith Helmet to run in Safari 4 (Beta) doesn't work for Safari 4 (final). Patience, until one of you genius' can bail me out. :-) Rick [alert admin]

I really, really want to like this program! ![]()

I've downloaded it, messed with it and I like the way it looks. I also want to get off the Quicken train ride. But with all the comments here and elsewhere about bugs I'm real hesitant about going through all the gyrations to import my Quicken data. I hope the reviews reflect continued improvement and less bugginess. MAcBook Pro 2.2GHz, OS 10.5.5 Rick in Maine [alert admin]

Joystick and Gamepad Tester 3.1 (Mac OS X)
I had a problem getting my download to run in English. Pascal responded with hours to both emails I sent and solved the problem. Great response on a free program that is useful to check out (in my case) and aging joystick. Rick in Maine [alert admin]

Joystick and Gamepad Tester 3.1 (Mac OS X)
I've downloaded this app directly from the developer's site as well as via VT and MacUpdate. The only language I get is French. Documentation says there is an English version but darned if I can find it! [alert admin]

DoubleCommand 1.6.6b1 (Mac OS X)
Double Command itself worked great for me and enabled me to set up some helpful keyboard combinations. Unfortunately, there's a "Yes, but..." After I installed Double Command 1.6.6b1, when I selected "Shut Down" or used the power button my MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo w/OS10.5.2, would go to Sleep. When I reopened the the computer it would never come out of sleep and would keep a black screen. I was not able to do anything until I did a "Force Quit" by holding down the power button. On the restart, thing worked fine until the next shut down. When I deleted Double Command, the problem disappeared. I'll give it 4 to 5 stars if that problem is corrected. [alert admin]

OnyX 1.7.9b2 (Mac OS X)
I've been trying to download 1.7.9b2 for three days (at different times) via a T-1 line. It always times out and download times show on the order of 9+ hours! Should only take a couple of minutes. Anybody else experiencing this. Rick in Maine [alert admin]

LSRefresh 1.0 (Mac OS X)
It runs, but hasn't cured a problem with unexpected quits of Safari. Can't say if it's good or bad. Nothing weird happens and nothing seems to break. I assume it's doing it's job. I'm just not "techie" enough to know. :-r [alert admin]

Boinx Mousepose 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Mousepose 2 won't run on my iMac DV+ w/10.4.7
When I try to start Mousepose 2 I get a message saying it won't run on my computer because I don't have Quartz Extreme. I'm not technical enough to know what this means but I'm disappointed and sticking with 1.3. [alert admin]

Speed Download 4.0 (Mac OS X)
The version 4 improvements are nice and the program is as stable as ever, BUT...after discovering SD4 didn't accept my SD3 registration I looked all over the Read Me and website and found nothing to indicate previous users need to purchase again. I didn't confirm it until getting to Version Tracker(another good reason to use VT). As much as I like Speed Download, it seems rather greedy not to offer existing users a discount on an upgrade. This hint does reactivate PithHelmet in Safari 4 Beta when the "magic" code mentioned earlier is added. When I did all this, PithHelmet started working again. BUT the Preference control panel or menu bar icon for it are not visible. Hence, even though I have paid the shareware fee, I get the reminders with increasing frequency. Please Apple, get the final version of Safari 4 released so the PithHelmet author can update his priceless program. Rick in Maine

Too few changes to justify a charge. I've used this app for years and it is still a 5 star app. But I feel angry about this business of charging for such a small update. Rick in Maine

Life just got a little easier once more. I'm not sure what I did different this time, but all is well. Spamcop has really made reporting spam easier for a long time and I missed it after the upgrade to Tiger. It really works well. Cheers Rick y'all

Eric: I must still be doing something wrong. I hope you will help me again. Here is what I have done: I quit Mail 2.0.1. I made sure there is a Bundles file at ~/Library/Mail I opened Terminal and copied the two lines exactly as you provided them. Than I ran the Install Mail Bundle script you provided. When I restarted Mail, the first thing that opened was a message telling me SpamCop had been disabled. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Rick

I have tried this procedure three times. Each time I restart Mail 2.0.1 I get a message that mail has disabled Spamcop and it puts it in a Bundles(disabled) folder. Maybe I am doing something wrong in the terminal commands but I just copied them from the comments and pasted them into Terminal. I miss my Spamcop!
