VueScan 8.5.38 (Mac OS X)

You can't get better scanning software or customer support

I emailed Ed Hamrick late last night with a question and to my surprise, he emailed back within minutes! He answered my question and made a suggestion that I followed with great success. Not only is the software great for photo scanning, but it's built-in OCR functions are worth the price by themselves. And the truth is that VueScan drives my Epson scanner better than the Epson does. Do yourself a favor and buy VueScan. It's one of those software decisions that you never regret. [alert admin]

Email Backup Pro 2.2.2 (Mac OS X)

Ignore the review below

Yes, you could copy your mail folder, but Email backup Pro does more than that. Read the info from the site and you'll find it to be an indispensable piece of software, as I have. [alert admin]

Apple Safari 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Still has problems with WordPress and TinyMCE

Still has problems with WordPress and TinyMCE when you choose colors. The other stuff works well enough, but not choosing a font color. [alert admin]

Apple Safari 4.0 (Mac OS X)

Still has problems with WordPress and TinyMCE

There are still problems with WordPress and TinyMCE. The link feature appears to work, but choosing to color text differently has problems. There is currently no way that I've found to uninstall Safari 4 and reinstall Safari 3.2.3 for Leopard. [alert admin]

Camino 1.6.7 (Mac OS X)

I don't see how it's "More Elegant" than other browsers??

I've been tooling around with Camino for a little while, and I honestly don't see that it's more elegant than Safari or Opera, or for that matter, Firefox. It's fast and the interface is clean, but that doesn't equal "Elegant" in my opinion. Like I said, it's fast and there are add-ons available, which is nice. It seems to handle most web pages fairly well. It flubs the Acid 2 and Acid3 test badly. I'll stick with Safari and Firefox. [alert admin]

AddMovie 1.6.4 (Mac OS X)

Must be some mistake

Must be some mistake. Whenever I have emailed Joe at Limit Point Software, he responds very quickly, often times within the same hour! And he has been very helpful. Maybe you need to use an app like AppZapper to throw away the app and any associated files, then reinstall it. Limit Point apps have always worked well for me. Joe just yesterday released the update to SeaTubes as well, fixing it. [alert admin]

Seatubes 1.2.5 (Mac OS X)

Works great for me.

Joe contacted me with the new version. I downloaded it, then I successfully downloaded and converted two videos with it. I am glad to see that Joe has fixed it. It's just easier to use Seatubes to download and convert at the same time than to do both parts separately with other software. [alert admin]

Trek Trivia 1.0 (Mac OS X)

It's fun for Star Trek trivia nuts

I spent more than an hour with it and emailed the author about it lacking the The Animated Series. He responded quickly and was very polite. Hey Doug2, it's a nice piece of trivia software, it's not like it's supposed to be the Adobe Creative Suite. IDArgyll [alert admin]

A most accurate description

UmarOMC1 said it best when he wrote: "...felt like I was in an amniotic sack on LSD. Well, maybe in space... in a dirty bubble with new little, 'blippy' 2-D universe bioluminescent friends." [alert admin]

Safari 4.0 release does not like 1Password

They've had a 1Password beta out since about 3:00 p.m. mountain time that does work for 1Password. Change your preferences to check for beta updates, then check for updates. That will download the latest beta that does work with Safari 4, until the official release is out.
