DownThemAll! 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

works well, price is right!

I've been using DTA with both Firefox 2 and 3, and it works very well. The interface could be a little bit more straightforward, but once you get the hang of it, it easy to configure and use. Definitely recommend it! [alert admin]

Transmission 0.90 (Mac OS X)

No problems...

Working fine for me, as has been the case for a long time now. I used the check for update feature, the new version downloaded, installed, and relaunched, and is humming along now. Transmission has been my BT client of choice for probably close to the last year or so, and has been improving with each release. Recommended! [alert admin]

DVDAttache 3.8.1 (Mac OS X)

Wonderful...

I've been using DVDAttache for a few months now, and love it. A very nice combination of just the right feature set, relatively easy to learn and use, a very responsive author, and you just can't beat the price. I recently had a problem with some images not coming in properly during the Amazon search function. I emailed the author, and within a few days, this version - which fixes the problem - was made available. Thanks to the author for a wonderful program, and for being so responsive. [alert admin]

Google Maps Plugin 2.4b4 (Mac OS X)

Can't install.

I've been unable to install this update, even after several attempts. The installer always ends with the message "Please try installing again." Any other messages that may be displayed as part of the installation process are displayed and overwritten so quickly that I cannot see/read them. I've tried both admin and non-admin accounts, no difference. I'm running 10.4.6 on a 1GHz PPC iMac. [alert admin]

DVDAttache 3.3.5b2 (Mac OS X)

Wonderful software

I've been using DVDAttache for only a few days now, but I love it already! Very easy to use. I added my entire (small) DVD collection in just a few minutes, with minimum manual effort. Would love to see a version of this program for CDs as well. Thnaks for this, and keep up the great work. [alert admin]

DVD Imager 1.5.8 (Mac OS X)

A couple of problems...

I've been using this product for about a month now, and like it very much. For burning most DVDs, it works simply and flawlessly. I've had a couple of recent issues, however: (1) I have about 3 DVDs now which the program will not convert into .img files. The symptoms are the same as described in some of the ohter comments here, the progress bar appears then disappears almost immediately, and an .img file of 0K size is created. I've mamanged to capture the log files for two of these DVDs. One log file contains the following: /Applications/DVD Imager.app/Contents/Resources/mkisofs: Implementation botch. Video pad for file VTS_01_0.IFO is -11 /Applications/DVD Imager.app/Contents/Resources/mkisofs: Either the *.IFO file is bad or you found a mkisofs bug. The other log file contains the following: /Applications/DVD Imager.app/Contents/Resources/mkisofs: No such file or directory. Faild to open /private/tmp/lelandtmploc//VIDEO_TS/VTS_02_0.IFO /Applications/DVD Imager.app/Contents/Resources/mkisofs: Can't open VTS info. /Applications/DVD Imager.app/Contents/Resources/mkisofs: Unable to parse DVD-Video structures. /Applications/DVD Imager.app/Contents/Resources/mkisofs: Unable to make a DVD-Video image. Any help in diagnosing or resolving these issues would be greatly appreciated. (2) On the last 2-3 DVDs I've imaged (successfully) with version 1.5.7, just before the very end of the process, I receive the following message: Applescript Error window "status" doesn't understand the autre message. (-1708) Once this message is dismissed, there is only a Cancel button below the progress bar. Once I hit Cancel and the Quit, however, the DVD seems to be imaged in full, as I can view it to the end, both from the .img file and from the burned DVD. Thanks for any help with either or both of these issues. [alert admin]

DVD Imager 1.5.4 (Mac OS X)

Works great!

Great little program, works flawlessly for me, with 10.4.5. UI is a bit different from standard OS X programs, but it took one time thru following the instructions for me, then it became a no-brainer to use. Very straightforward, does what it says it will do, and it's free. What more could you ask for? [alert admin]

Missing feature

I second this request. Nice widget, would be even better if had a link to the Discovery download as well. Thanks!
