iView MediaPro 3.1.1 (Mac OS X)
In my experience, version 2.6.4 is most stable one. Version 3 and upward are buggy. I couldn't stand any and revered back to 2.6.4 and it works fine on MacOS 10.4.7 [alert admin]

MoviePod 1.22 (Mac OS X)
Version 1.22 is Universal but it does not work on PowerPC. It keeps say VOB is not right format to convert. Version 1.21 and version 1.0 was fine until I downloaded version 1.22 and it stops working. [alert admin]

Microtek ScanMaker ScanWizard 7.0 (Mac OS X)
I have ScanMaker 5700. ScanWizard 5 V7.01 is the only version works with Panther. Two type of installers you need to download: the ScanWizard itself and Software Support Pack. ScanWizard 5 V7.11 does not work with Panther at all. If you had already installed V7.11, you have to get rid all off it's components first before installing V7.01. [alert admin]

The original CD that comes with the scanner works with installation on Panther. The downloaded version doesn't. But they both have the same CanoScan ToolBox version (4.1.1.0). The CD version uses "Installer VISE 7.4.1" to install. Where as the downloaded version uses "InstallAnywhere 4.5" to install. [alert admin]

DOS hard drive is not recommended for System Backup or even an installer files...etc. Some files embedded within installer package will not work correctly on DOS hard drive. DOS hard drive is only good for simple file format such as Word, Photoshop documents etc.

I think by holding down option key and press eject will open other tray.

Sony has come up with this concept years earlier. But it comes and goes because it doesn't use camcorder. It uses its stand alone drive which costs $300.
