VirtualHostX 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Makes Life Much Easier

This application is indispensable for any web designer or developer that builds websites that utilize the Apache server on OS X. Setting up vhosts on your localhost is an excellent way to build and test websites before they get deployed to the live production server. This program, simply put, makes my life a lot easier when setting up vhosts on my computer. [alert admin]

VisualHub 1.19 (Mac OS X)

Simply Perfect

I had several files (AVIs) that I wanted to convert to DVD format and it not only converted them perfectly, it also burned the DVDs for me. It handles formats that QuickTime chokes on and is relatively fast. I highly recommend this program if you want a trouble-free way to convert videos to different formats. It even converts to Flash video! [alert admin]

Domain Name Grabber 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Is This Really Useful?

This appears to only be useful to the programmer who is making money off of anything a user registers. It's also useful to those strange few who prefer to use a dashboard widget to look up a domain, instead of just using a simple whois service. [alert admin]

The Answer I've Been Looking For

This is hands down the best program I've ever run on my computer. I can't believe it's freeware! Not only has it solved all of my problems in life, it makes me feel smart using it. [alert admin]

RosettaTest 0.79 (Mac OS X)

Only Works With Intel

I was hoping that this would actually tell me if software would run correctly on Rosetta -- basically the ability to test my software on my PowerPC before moving to Intel. Instead, you have to already be running on Intel, and it tells you if it's running Rosetta or native intel. This is still a cool tool, and should streamline the ability to distinguish which programs are still PowerPC only. You can of course do this by doing a Get Info and seeing if the app is universal, but again, this will most likely streamline the process of checking and monitoring. Now all I need is my Intel based Mac! [alert admin]

SvnX 0.83 (Mac OS X)

Better Than Nothing At All

SvnX is a good little program for managing Subversion repositories. So far everything has worked quite well. My biggest complaint is the UI. The developers chose to allow the software to work in multiple windows, instead of one common window. This can be quite annoying. I would prefer a single point of reference, along with an intuitive interface to switch between local working copies, server copies, etc... [alert admin]

Rendezvous Browser 1.5.3 (Mac OS X)

Change the Name

Shouldn't this be called OpenTalk Browser. I thought the Rendezvous name was dead in the water. [alert admin]
