I'm using Ascent with my Forerunner 305, and I'm very satisfied with this combo. All data in Ascent is presented nice and clean. The latest update (1.8.0) is a big one, with major interface overhaul and lots of new functions. Even the previous version was a nice one, but this makes the application really shine. Never experienced crash or anything like that. This application puts a shame on the Garmin Training Center (Mac version). [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5160.0 (Mac OS X)
I used PD for more than a month (60 days trial license with German MacWelt magazine), and I never experienced a single bug or crash. Improved coherence mode is really nice, and the only problem with it is that if you drag a Windows window, it gets redrawn somewhat slowly. To be able to run Windows normally, you will need at least 2 GB of RAM - otherwise your 'Mac side' will get as slow as almost unusable, though 'Windows side' runs OK. Very compelling feature is that you can conveniently open any Mac file via right click - all Windows programs are included in the contextual menus. This works even when PD is closed (VM suspended) - then it opens and presto - you have a Mac file open in a Windows program. To me PD works better than the Fusion, which has crashed the first day I tried it (latest version available 16th. October 2007), when opening file from Mac shared folder. Also, you won't be able to open the Mac files in Windows the way PD lets you to... That said, I have to mention that PD pricing model is a shame - you get a 10% 'discount' that is immediately taken away with 'Extended Download Service' that costs you 11% and is non-removable. So actually you end up paying $80.98, instead of %79.99. A strange and funny game. :-) [alert admin]

This app is a real Mac Gem! I have tried it for an hour or so, and feel really impressed. Every tool is just where you would expect it to be and works just the way you expect it to. I played with most of the tools available in tools palette, on a clean file, on an image from iSight, and a fairly large (3348x2104 pix) photo. On the later filters are not too fast - gaussian blur filter takes some 2 seconds to display the blurred image, but I find it still acceptable. The thing that I miss is soft-edged brush. I hope developer has it just around the corner - maybe with the next version number or so. [alert admin]

Well, actually it seems there IS the possibility to remove the 'extended download service' from your order, so my comment about that was hurried and not correct. I'm sorry.
