Apple Safari 4.0.4 (Mac OS X)

Review on latest version....

Hi, here is my feedback on Leopard 10.5.8 machine PowerBook G4: 1. it is very fast compared to other browsers. 2. it is less buggy than before, but still crash or hang on a random basis, on apparently no reasons (ie. while searching for a new site, entering a certain web page, etc.) 3. documentation is to me way too simple and poor. Not enough topics and not detailed enough! SO, DESPITE THIS IS STILL MY FAVORITE BROWSER! LONG LIFE TO SAFARI! LONG LIFE TO APPLE! LONG LIVE TO SPEVE JOBS! :-) [alert admin]

RealPlayer 11.1.0 (Mac OS X)

Very buggy! Useless! Stay away!

I have tried to use it since Tiger OSX 10.4. but I must say that it has never worked for me. It either crashed at start up or even will not run at all. I had the same trouble last night with this newest version with Leopard OSX 10.5.8. [alert admin]

VMware Fusion 2.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Very buggy! It would not install Windows XP!

Hello, I think Parallel 4.0 is much easier! In fact when I have tried to run VMware 2.0.3.x into my Apple MacBook Air, I had first problems with the installation since under OSX 10.5.6 the virtual machine setting workflow was not so simple to set it up! Than, and worse, when I was able to tell the system to which drive to load my Windows XP CD, VMware stopped the installation because it found an error. This problem has been properly identify and solved on this link: http://www.techhead.co.uk/vmware-esx-creating-a-windows-xp-vm-and-getting-error-setup-did-not-find-any-hard-disk-drives-installed-in-your-computer But as you can see you need to be a software nerve to fix it! VMware? No thanks!!! [alert admin]

Skype 2.8.0.324 (Mac OS X)

very buggy!

Hi, this beta version is very buggy under osx 10.5.6. It will crash very often during the start-up of the application. I am very angry with the Skype producers since they keep put a lot of effort on Windows version (I see updates very often), while the Mac version is most of the time left behind way too much!!!!!!! Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 (Mac OS X)

Eudora is still MUCH better!

Hello, I used Eudora 6.x for several years and I was very happy for the following reasons: 1, fastest email search and text browsing available! 2. very stable 3. attactive graphic and layout 4. easy to use and customize 5. very user friendly With Leopard OS 10.5 I moved to Thunderbird. First version 2.0.0.9/12 and now 2.0.0.14. After a lot of testing I can report the following experience with it: 1. poor layout 2. VERY sloooooow to handle large volume of incoming emails 3. when adding dictionaries, the menu bar got corrupted (could NOT display the text formatting panel any more and had to fully re-install the application!). In conclusion? Mmmm. Missing the old Eudora a lot! Puffo. [alert admin]

Compatibility problems (Mac vs. PC)

There is still not full compatibility between Mac OSX and Windows versions of Powerpoint files. Using for example a Powerpoint 2007 file created by a PC user, importanting on a Mac running Powerpoint 2008 (rel 12) I can tell you that many fonts in the Mac version are very badly displayed! Skype 2.6.0.72 (Mac OS X)

Window version always ahead and more stable! Why is that???

Hi, I am a long time Mac user. I have used Skype for almost 1 year. I like the concept but I am very disappointed that the Window version is always ahead (now version 3.1.x version 2.6.0.x on Mac). PC version also crashes less often and take less ram (memory) and offer more bells. [alert admin]
