ffmpegX 0.0.9y (Mac OS X)
Every time I start this app it asks to download the mpeg2enc.intel when I don't have an Intel Mac. Also, every time I try to encode, I get a message asking me for Progress.app. This application is not helpful, nor intuitive at all. Anyone have a better alternative for converting vid files? Transmission 0.95 (Mac OS X)
I have had to go back to version 0.94 because my dl and ul times came to a crashing halt. I trashed 0.95 and opened the torrents I had running in 0.95 and dl times went from nearly nothing to 25-150K. Many users on the Transmission forum will attest to having the same issue. This is such a great torrent client but the developer seems top be having brain freezes. They fix one problem (router ping of death) just to introduce another one in a later version. I hate Azureus (not sure why everyone loves that app, it is such a hog for what it does) but these constant problems are annoying. [alert admin]

iVisit 3.7.2 (Mac OS X)
Honestly I can't believe the kind of drivel that gets by for a review. And no, I a not involved with the company in any way. First of all iVisit is most certainly FREE. You can buy a paid version called "Plus" if you so desire. I have used this software for years and had never had an issue with it. It does what it says it does. Connections and frame rates are very much based on the kind of connection you have and others. Probably also internet traffic. The interface is very dated and could be improved but are you trying to do videoconferencing or looking at a pretty GUI? Come on now, it is free. I was a user of CuSeeME until it finally died and this was a great replacement. Could it stand improvment, sure, but hey it works and it is free. [alert admin]

TiVo Desktop 1.9.2 (Mac OS X)
Great, now I can watch my photos and listen to iTunes over my crappy TV speakers rather than the speaker set-up on my Mac! Fantastic. What I really want is Tivo ToGo. When the heck is TIVO going to finish writing that for Mac users?! [alert admin]

Switch 1.05 (Mac OS X)
Well it worked GREAT for me. I had a .wma file that I was desperate to get into iTunes. I searched for a conversion utility to do it but I only found Windows versions or they cost too much (I wasn't going to pay $30 to convert one song!) Downloaded thsi app and within 60 seconds I had my song in .mp3 format! [alert admin]

I meant to say, "trashed 0.95 and reopened in 0.94!"
