iPhoto Library Manager 3.4 (Mac OS X)

Works Great

After buying the registration, this program has done everything it's advertised to do. The most important thing for me is being able to sync multiple iPhoto libraries on 4 machines, and it preserves all metadata. I discovered you need to be using the same version of iPhoto on all machines, and I had iintermittent problems syncing with one Mac via a wireless router. When I connected it by ethernet the problem went away. I look forward to a similar iTunes utility. [alert admin]

PocketMac for BlackBerry 4.0.20b (Mac OS X)

Gave up on it

I was reluctant to try based on so many negative reviews here and on other sites. I spent several hours with PocketMac. I ultimately succeeded in the application communicating with a Blackberry Pearl, but when complete, no sync. The log thought it had. It didn't do a thing. I suspect this is related to being run on a non-admin account, although it was installed using an admin account. I tried numerous things I've found on the web, including setting the phone's media card setting to "no", the order of connection, moved the plug-ins manually, etc. Regardless, I gave up. Too bad too for the price. Like others, I downloaded the trial Missing Sync, and it worked painlessly the first time. I guess I'll now shell out the $39 for it. PocketMac was absolutely non-functional for me. [alert admin]

Missing Sync for BlackBerry 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Works Fine

I downloaded yesterday with the free trial, no registration yet. No problems whatsoever. Synced a Blackberry Pearl several times. Haven't tried iTunes and iPhoto syncs yet, just iCal, Address Book and notes, but I don't anticipate any problems. Sure would be nice if Bluetooth worked for this so I could take advantage of auto-syncs whenever the phone is in the room. [alert admin]

iPhoto Library Manager 3.2.5 (Mac OS X)

iPLM

Not only does it manage libraries very well (and all of the other features) on a single Mac, I discovered over the weekend that it seamlessly copys photos, albums and libraries between libraries on network drives. It also keeps all of the metadata intact in the process which iPhoto will not do on its own when copying between Macs. [alert admin]
