Apple Mac OS X 10.5.2 (Mac OS X)

Dock Display Options!

At last! We sorely needed the Dock item display and content view options in Leopard, and here they are. I was hoping this would show up. Thanks. [alert admin]

DivX for Mac 6.7.1 (Mac OS X)

Effective and Free

Expands QT compatibility, permitting me to play files which would otherwise not be usable in QT. This also expands the conversion possibilities of other applications which rely on QT, Roxio Toast, for instance. I have not used the associated web browser plug-in extensively, but I do not recall having significant (crashing) problems with it. It is generous of the developers to make a good part of the functionality of this software available for free. [alert admin]

My Cat Roscoe 2.3 copy (Mac OS X)

Compatibility

I've tested Roscoe with Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, and Leopard. All OK. But it's anybody's guess as to whether it will function with Mac OS 10.6, Tabby. [alert admin]

My Cat Roscoe 2.3 copy (Mac OS X)

Equivalence

FWIW, I run the applications "My Cat Kipling" and "My Cat Isabella" which can do similar amazing things. Perhaps, like us, some of the capabilities of this type of application takes advantage of certain "hardwired" characteristics. [alert admin]

WireTap Studio 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

WireTap Pro maintenance ends

Ambrosia says: "...WireTap Pro has been "end of lifed" - meaning it will no longer be updated. ..." As a registered user of WireTap Pro, I'm sorry that the app I recently paid for will no longer be maintained. I do not need the additional functions in WT Studio, and so do not feel that I should have to pay extra for those functions. WT Pro does what it does very well, and adding simple audio editing functions merely duplicates what other applications already offer. I understand that Ambrosia engineers have to make a living, and thus the common tendency to add additional features so as to be able to charge a significant upgrade fee. Better might have been to offer a time-limited upgrade license, so that users understand that after a given period, obtaining a new version will require an additional fee. [alert admin]

Still "router death"

It may be that the settings used in Transmission are not appropriate for your particular hardware, in which case you may be better off using Azureus, where the settings are adjustable. See: http://azureuswiki.com/index.php/NetworkConnectionDying If you are using Leopard, there may be other, unrelated network issues.

Why pay when free elsewhere?

Here is a reason: This software also converts Metacard and Revolution stacks. Revolution is a current product.

usarian, Ambrosia cannot foretell the future. When an operating system changes, application programmers have to play catch-up. Best not to upgrade an OS until you are sure that a currently-used application is fully compatible.

Why not explain what it does?

Vine Server (as with similar programs such as Apple Remote Desktop and Timbuktu) allows a computer to be controlled, to "serve" data, from a remote location. That location could be the next room, or half-way around the world! The computer on the other end has to have some sort of compatible "client" application which can communicate with the server computer and request data. The settings on the server computer can specify to…
