Deja Vu 3.4.2 (Mac OS X)
Yes, Deja Vu is still supported
Propaganda Productions would like to make the following two points of clarification: 1. Yes, Deja Vu is still being supported. Our customers themselves will be the ones who decide if and when it will ever be abandoned. 2. Deja Vu serial numbers are sent out automatically, and always have been. Sometimes these messages get flagged as spam, so customers may need to check their spam folders. In any case, if you write to us and tell us you never received your registration email, we will always re-send it to you. Always. Thank you for your time. That is all. [alert admin]

Deja Vu 3.2.1 (Mac OS X)
Support for Deja Vu is indeed available, folks. To learn how to use Deja Vu, just click the purple '?' button next to 'Options'. If you are experiencing problems, please visit the Propaganda Support page: http://propagandaprod.com/support.html If you don't find an answer there, email us and we'll be happy to help. Support requests via email are normally answered within 1-2 business days (often much sooner). I would encourage people to try Deja Vu and make up their own minds about it. Thank you. [alert admin]

Iceberg 1.1 (Mac OS X)
This is brilliant, top-notch work. Infinitely more usable than Apple's PackageMaker. Merci beaucoup, Stéphane! I would gladly pay for this. You should at least consider putting a PayPal link on your site to accept donations. [alert admin]

Deja Vu 2.6 (Mac OS X)
Anyone who had trouble with the installer
I believe the installer was failing right away if the name of your startup disk had any special characters in it (accented characters, etc.). If you experienced this problem, please download a fresh copy and try again. A change was made which should now handle this scenario better. [alert admin]

Why does VT even bother using a 5-star rating system, when people almost invariably give this either a 1 or a 5? I checked my mailbox, but couldn't find any messages from iGreg. I'm pretty sure your problem is solvable, though. [alert admin]

Deja Vu 2.4.1 (Mac OS X)
It's true that when you upgrade to 2.4, you need to re-select your folders in the main table. This is separate from your actual scheduled backups, though, which remain intact. (I thought I mentioned this somewhere, but now I can't seem to find it...) [alert admin]

I don't mind if you give DV a low rating, but you should email me if you're having trouble with it. Please check your /Library/Receipts folder for a file named 'BSD.pkg'. If it's not there, you will need to install the BSD subystem from your OS X disc before Deja Vu will work for you. [alert admin]

Deja Vu 2.4 (Mac OS X)
Doesn't overwrite prior schedules
NoZen-X: It's true that you will need to reselect your folders, but actually your previously scheduled backups will remain untouched and will continue to be performed. People will still want to hit the 'Schedule' button after they've set things up, though, but mainly so the new backup script will be installed. [alert admin]

You posted a message on the Deja Vu support forum on a Saturday, waited about 24 hours (not even one business day), then posted this "review". I will let others draw their own conclusions about the sensibility of this.

I don't see the ability to 'Show Details' of a backup in progress.
Click the status (circle) icon in the menu bar while a backup is in progress and select 'Show Details'.

"It's just a GUI for Psync anyway." Deja Vu backup script = 502 lines Psync script = 363 lines "Who knows what will be the excuse to charge more next!?" Does ongoing development count? Deja Vu has been continually improved for almost 2 years now, and there's more to come. If you have a problem with the idea of paying someone for their hard work, then I can assure you I won't lose any sleep over your departure.

Tom: Where in the Toast documentation did it say that you would be entitled to all future versions of Deja Vu for free? (Hint: Nowhere) You are correct that the version bundled with Toast is not a demo, and you may continue to use that version (or any other version supplied by Roxio) for as long as you like. People who are behaving like their heads are about to explode over this issue really need…
