NeatWorks 2.1.6 (Mac OS X)
I have had this software since it was beta for Mac. It has improved greatly. I have found that the scanning of receipts is fairly reliable and the info is spotlight searchable. The process is straightforward. Scan - fill in fields (most are filled in automatically) and you are done. You can also scan business cards. I use the portable scanner that comes with the product and have found it easy to carry around in my MBP bag. Overall, if you want a quick way to scan in stuff while on the go or out of the office, I can recommend. If you want to scan more than 25 pages, get something else that has an auto document feeder. Apple iPhone 3.0 (Mac OS X)
Used iTunes to update it. Download was quick....None of the expected delays. As to UI...Transitions seem smoother. Rotations are nice Slide main screen to right to expose spotlight. Left to get it back to main screen. Voice memo is cool and clear and you can share it. I will continue to explore...but seems fine. I have iPhone 3G. [alert admin]

Microsoft Expression Media 2.0.2096.0 (Mac OS X)
What's new in this version: Importing a number of large images is very slow. XML export and import may scramble custom fields. Is MS saying they fixed these issues or created these problems for the update...? Separately, MS updater for the program does not currently recognize update is available...I guess that may change later on.... [alert admin]

There are many improvements and additions to this upgrade. This program is great for organizing information for all kinds of purposes. The clipping feature allowing you to clip from any program to the Notebook is a great tool. Though the model is a notebook you clip information into, you are not limited to items you type. You can add PDFs, files, photos, web stuff, etc. There is an amazing index system built in that builds itself based on what you add. There are several noticeable improvements and differences: As to searching contacts...much faster. When moving applications, little 'x' appears on non apple applications...you can still move them all but only non apple ones vibrate and have x Maps seems to be "speedier" and gps seems to work better though not quicker. Mail is still exhibiting delays which can be quite time consuming when switching between mail list and reading. If checking mail and trying to write, noticeable delay when typing in initial email address if it is comparing to contact list. I would not hesitate to download update....There is still more work to be done. [alert admin]

Readiris Pro 11.6.3 (Mac OS X)
11.6.3 Exists with E-Mail to Customer Service
I sent an email to support@irisusa.com along with my existing serial number and asked about what update was available to 11.5.x version I had. They sent link to 11.6.3. After installing, you need to enter serial number and then key. Below is quote from tech support regarding getting a key. We need your Machine ID to generate your key. To get this ID, first install the IRIS software. Then, when you open it for the first time, you will be asked to enter your serial number. Enter it, click Ok and then you'll get the 26-character Machine ID. Please email us the Machine ID so then we can send you the Key. You can also get the Machine ID when you click on Register on the Menu Bar (on the top of the screen) and click on Register Wizard. I have not played around with ReadIris software much now that I use Acrobat. Although I think it does a good job with OCR. However, I use Acrobat to give me image with text to search. ReadIris can do this as well but the size of the generated file is huge by comparison. It does not compress or reduce the PDF file size like Acrobat. Example 92 kb 2 page document OCR'd in Acrobat turns into 92kb doc with image and ocr. (Searchable image). In ReadIris, same document turns into 2.8 MB file. [alert admin]

You can download fix by going to preferences in 1P and selecting updates. Then, check include BETA versions....run check and download and install latest Beta which fixes problem.

According to developer's site - Application to spoof your Ethernet or Airport mac address. It will also generate a random address for you. Admin password required to change mac addresses.
