Saft 10.0.8 (Mac OS X)
Hacking the plist did fix it in the meantime. Thanks Hao Li for keeping up the good work! One word: PLS fix the overly complicated update process for registered users. I would LOVE to have an automatic update function here ... like Safari trying to load Saft, and when that does not work, bring up a requester or something to get the upgrade, if there is one (or something like "Try again later" if there isn't.) Just dreaming ... [alert admin]

my ipod (3g) was not recognized ...
after the update. i had to reset and refill it from scratch! my external firewire 800 disk mounted without problem. so at least nothing was lost in the process but a little time. dual g5 seems snappier now, especially when starting programs, but i could not proove it. [alert admin]

I use Saft mostly for two things: dated D/L folders and fullscreen browsing. Does any of the other tools have these features? Otherwise i will have to stay with Saft. Which is not that bad anyway, and works fine with Pithhelmet. I still recommend it.

the authentication problem is finally solved! it comes from EyeTV MPEG Support.component in /Library/QuickTime. remove it and everything is back to normal. this was found out by savage and is documented at the macosxhints forum. check thread http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?p=373850#post373850)

i second that. i always have to keep the mail with the code ready just for updating saft. anyways, hacking the info.plist inside saft.bundle repeatedly saved me from waiting for an update to saft. to hao li: please, fix this issue, it is "a bit" cumbersome for registered users.
