Saft 10.5.2 (Mac OS X)
One, all this functionality is available in Firefox for free, and much more than this. Safari's plugin world sucks rocks. Two, I tried Saft and found that there are other free alternatives that do the job. And do it well. E.g., I wanted it mainly as an adblocker, and PithHelment allows much more control, as does the "Develop" menu of Safari (available in Preferences). Three, SAFT guys, please please fix the documentation and tell us how to uninstall! [alert admin]

FontAgent Pro 4.0.2 (Mac OS X)
I tried Suitcase Fusion. It didn't even have a mechanism of simply showing the fonts in WYSIWYG way! And dragging fonts to "sets" was a pain. FontXPlorer from Linotype is nice, but it leaves a lot to be desired, for instance when I activate a font, I want it enabled FOREVER, not only for my current session until reboot, thankyou. Scoured the preferences but some basic features are missing. OSX's default "FontBook" is nice enough for simple people but not for typophiles. Enter FontAgent Pro. Everything you want. Excellent interface, shows fonts easily, groupings/sets work like a charm, and the preferences are clearly laid out so you KNOW what's up. Highly highly recommended. [alert admin]

Cocktail 4.0.2 (Mac OS X)
For what it is worth. MainMenu is a free app, and it does all of this stuff. Use it along with AppCleaner (also free) and you'll be fine. Both are light weight and do their job well, with a superb interface for both. [alert admin]

VisualHub 1.34 (Mac OS X)
All I wanted to do was to take my AVI movie files and my SRT subtitle files, and burn them into a DVD format that my DVD player (Sony home theater) can play. Simple. I tried iDVD, then ffmpeg itself, then spent money on Roxio Toast (which is more eye candy than anything else), and so on. If they "worked" in the first place, they ended up recording the movie in a format that was unwatchable on the DVD player. Either a stupid aspect ration, despite specifying a widescreen format before the burn process, or some just wouldn't play. Then I tried a combination of Submerge and Visual Hub. End of woes. This is a small, but extremely useful application. It works. It just works. Which is how applications should be. [alert admin]

An application that doesn't even uninstall itself on a platform as clean and welldocumented as OSX is worth bit*hing about. I have uninstalled every remnant of SAFT (didn't find its adblocker as efficient as PithHelment), have deleted every file, have reinstalled Safari, have repaird my disk permissions, rebooted and done whatever I can. Guess what. When I start Safari, I still see the wonderful message: "saft.app could not be found. Please place is in the…

I have been using it for a quite a while now, and I have to ask you this: CRASH? My FontAgent Pro has *never* crashed. Are you sure you bought the thing and didn't just download some warez from somewhere. You get what you, um, pay for. This is hands-down better than FontXplorer. Any day.

Try MainMenu, which is also free, and is not a beta. Small highly effective application. Also 5 stars on VT.
