Utilitunes 1.2 (Mac OS X)
Great programme that works well for what I want (it never seems to find lyrics for the songs that I like; but I'm not too fussed about that!) I had no hesitation in paying the minimal registration fee. I only have 3 real queries/problems: 1. Why do I get artwork presented in identical pairs? There is always 2 of each version of the album covers it finds. 2. It crashes fairly frequently and I have to force quit and relaunch to get it working again. 3. It would be good to be able to localise the searches. I live in the UK and I've noticed that the artwork & liner notes veer toward US versions of albums and some obscure albums that didn't get a US release don't show a result at all. In all cases I've found the correct artwork manually on amazon.co.uk. Other than that a brilliant programme that gets a lot of use from me. Thanks. [alert admin]

SafariButtons 0.3.5 (Mac OS X)
I used to love this. Then I upgraded to OS X 10.3.9 and the fabulous extra buttons vanished! And I was upset. I wanted them back: So I was happy to see a new version of SafariButtons for OS X 10.3.9 on VT. However, having downloaded the installer twice and then installed/uninstalled/installed/uninstalled/installed/uninstalled/installed/uninstalled/installed/uninstalled ad nauseum, I have to report that, on my system at least, the print button just doesn't show up! It is kinda there. In the sense that if I click on the space where it isn't (!) the print dialogue box drops into view. Any ideas about how I can get a proper print button rather than the rather spooky invisible one I have/haven't got now? Cheers Paul [alert admin]

Signature Randomizer 3.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Apple's "Mail" may be much maligned, but it does this just fine! [alert admin]

AlbumReviews 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Am I being dim here? The download just seems to launch Sherlock! How do I install this upgrade? [alert admin]

TVguide 0.1 (Mac OS X)
Good idea.....Look forward to it actually working!
At the moment I get an Applescript Error dialogue which seems to contain a programme listing about "selling small family cars...and...fluffly dice" etc.etc!!! when it tries to load ITV1 data. Incidentally, when it works will it accommodate regional variations for ITV etc? And what about Channel 5? Despite all this; a good effort. I'll try it again when there's an update. [alert admin]

Meteorologist 1.4.0b2 (Mac OS X)
I've been trying to test Meteo alongside Weatherpop in my menubar to see which I prefer. Unfortunately Meteo consistently just quits and vanishes within about half an hour! At least it launches now though, 1.3.1 wouldn't even do that for me. However it's never going to find a permanent home in my menubar until it can actually manage to stay there! [alert admin]

The Unread 1.1 (Mac OS X)
The Unread 1.0.1 has been a fantastically usefull and totally reliable fixture on my menubar for months now. I couldn't live withou it (well, maybe I'd muddle through - with counselling!) Fortunately I followed the advice when installing the 1.1 update and backed up the old version and it's prefs because the new one has some problems for me: Every time I restart my Mac, TUR has lost all my mailboxes from the list in Preferences - it is completely empty. I have to quit and relaunch to get them back. Also, maybe as part of the same problem, the Preferences have reset to the defaults twice now without me asking it to. Neadless to say I am now happily back with 1.0.1, working perfectly, while I wait to try 1.1.1 [alert admin]

Meteorologist 1.3.1 (Mac OS X)
of these Weather programs. Unfortunately WeatherPop and WeatherManX win hands down, if only because they actually launch and run! Meteorologist says it's loading in the menu-bar for about 10 seconds, then just disappears. I've downloaded and installed it a couple of times but with no improvement. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? I'm using a 800Mhz iMac running OSX 10.3.3 [alert admin]

Mr. Tides X 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)
...this seems to be very impressive. However, in the instructions it states "Stations automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time (DST, also called Summer Time)" Well, I live in the UK and Mr. Tides X most definitely does not adjust for British Summer Time: All its predictions are exactly 1 hour behind! It says "No adjustment by the user is necessary" but, is there anything I can do to correct this? PS. This is only the second time I've sent feedback to VT: First time I thought I'd forgotten to award stars and felt guilty! This time I'm looking but I don't see any stars. How do I do the star thing? Bully for you oscarweb 1; mines gone again! Barely lasts a few minutes before it disappears. What do I do to keep the thing running?
