Cenon 3.81 (Mac OS X)

3.81 universal broken  

I tried running 3.81 (univeral binary) on a MacBook Pro; 10.4.8) and it crashes as soon as I try to open a file. The crash log shows: Link (dyld) error: Symbol not found: _vhfPathWithPathComponents Referenced from: /Applications/Cenon.app/Contents/MacOS/../Frameworks/VHFImport.framework/Versions/A/VHFImport Expected in: flat namespace [alert admin]

pdf-Recover Professional 3.6 (Mac OS X)

not so hot  

On their web site they say about the demo version "The software you get now will be fully functional - no intentionally broken or missing features. It's the real deal." No it's not: once you get it, it says it only unlocks the first page. The installer popped up an error message with no reason for the failure (OS X 10.4.6). [alert admin]

not sure about intel but it works just fine  

I had endless trouble trying to get it to work more than once, and then for two different user logins. I tried turning off launching EPSON Scanner Monitor at login and so far it seems more reliable (Mac OS X 10.4.11, iMac Core 2 Duo). It's not clear to me that that background process is needed at all, because it works OK without it running as verified in Activity Monitor. If I could find a free scanner…
