GeekTool 3.0rc5 (Mac OS X)

Long Live GeekTool!!!

A Huge Thank you to those gallant people who have taken over development of this wonderful little PrefPane! Version 2.1.2 was working ok under 10.6, but imagine my surprise when i checked to see if there was an update and found this new version, already in 64-bit and working flawlessly under 10.6!! Thank you again! Peter [alert admin]

BwanaDik 3.2.1 (Mac OS X)

Simply Indispensable

Thank you again for this great app!! What's even better is that it still runs flawlessly under 10.6 (as it has under nearly all betas of 10.6, except the very early ones)!! I just can't sing this MenuBar App's praises enough. It's simple, fast, small, and perfectly useful! All praise John Schilling! Thank you, Peter [alert admin]

smcFanControl 2.1.2 (Mac OS X)

2.1.3.1 available via auto-update

I don't know why, but his page is not up to date. The version I am currently running is 2.1.3.1 (I always update it via its own update engine (in info->check for updates). It woks fine for me (as it always has). I am using 10.5.5 build 9F33.. Hope this helps. Peter [alert admin]

Xiph QuickTime Components 0.1.8 (Mac OS X)

Very useful QuickTime Add-On!!!!

Thank you for this very useful component! This allows, for example, to play Wikipedia audio content using QuickTime in Safari instead of using the much lesser-quality JavaScript player. And you can't beat the price!! Thank you again! [alert admin]

Aqua4iTunes 3.2.0a (Mac OS X)

Worked Great For Me!!

Since only the people who have a complaint ever post here, I thought I would chime in and say this: This version worked perfectly for me! It does exactly what it says it will, it's exceedingly simple to use, there are plenty of very cool choices, it's free(!), and the results are perfect. Thank you for making such a great little program, and thank you for updating it so fast after new versions of iTunes come out!! Be Well, Peter [alert admin]

This shouldn't be on VT

I agree completely!!! if you didn't use Xcode (or at least AppleScript) to build a proper OSX app, whatever you're pushing belongs somewhere else.

Possible Extension for highlighted words

I'll Join in on that beer offer! Actually, I'll get you a whole keg of your favorite brew if you can make sure that FinderPop continues to work in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, even if you have to loose a little functionality somewhere! Cheers, Peter

Goes into "Not Responding"

Same here, but only if downloading multiple torrents... It seems like this version was designed in part to fix a freezing issue. Maybe that is not complete. Anyway, this is a great program, and I'm sure this minor issue will be fixed soon!

Could not repair my drive

Well, I don't know about all that... The original complaint, as i understand it, is that, despite all the bravado this app displays, Drive Genius really just runs fsck to repair disks, and that's pretty lame! (especially if they're charging $299 for IT people!!!) in the original complaint, DW stands for Disk Warrior, the very best directory repair app out there, ever. You couldn't be more wrong when you say that most failures on a HD are hardware…

is versiontracker jumping the gun?

Same here, maybe the final X-Plane is just the same as RC-3 except for that one plane, so they haven't updated the site yet. Or, maybe it's a re-release of RC-3 and versiontracker mis-labled it as 8.50 (implying final). I'm leaning toward the latter because traditionally the beta installer only installs betas, and the 'demo' installer only isntalls final versions. In this case the 'demo' installer is still identifying 8.40 as the last final version. I don't…

Why Not?

Jeez, do we *have* to type everything into Terminal just because we can? I like Terminal as much as the next person, but I also like to be able to just double-click and get on with my day... To the developer: Great job on the apps and the new 'kill Dashboard' Widget! Thank you! Peter

Does not update from 11.1.0

does it give the old version number in the 'splash screen' or the 'about Word' screen, or just in the Finder. The reason I ask is that the Finder sometimes fails to reflect small increment versions (same with Acrobat reader, even if you have Reader 7.0.2, the Finder still says it's 7.0). However, once in the application, in this case Word, you should see the correct version number. This does happen, and is usually not symptomatic of anything…
