iGetMovies 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)
This doesn't seem to work with the latest iTunes. I used to manually go to the temp folder to get the files, but after I updated iTunes and QT, I can no longer find the file. I decided to give this app a try and it seems to have the same problem I am (i.e. not able to find the temp file). The only problem I have with this app is that it doesn't allow you to set where you want the files to show up. I hate getting the files on my desktop b/c I use FileVault. [alert admin]

Tomato Torrent 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)
I was excited to see a 1.1.1 release with a slightly new interface. Unfortunately, I had a problem starting downloads using the open thru URL function. The app just keeps "verifying" the torrent and doesn't start downloading. I went back to 1.0.3 and it works just as well as it did before. [alert admin]

RAR Expander 0.7 (Mac OS X)
I was able to launch the app with no problem, but I was not able to use the Expand command (cmd-o) because it was greyed out and dragging the rar file to the RAR Expander's dock icon accomplished nothing even though it registered as a file it can handle. [alert admin]

djoPlayer 3.4.3 (Mac OS X)
I have been using djoPlayer more regularly now. I like MPlayer 2's interface and features, but it's still in beta and rather glitchy. Mplayer 1 is okay, but djoPlayer has a more pleasant interface. The only problem I have with djoPlayer is the volume control. Doesn't seem to work right. I think it's b/c mplayer defaults to max volume, but djoPlayer appears to default on min volume, although it is really the max volume. You have to play around with it to really know what I'm talking about. [alert admin]

Microsoft IntelliPoint 5.1 (Mac OS X)
junk for my Intellimouse Explorer
Version 5 worked great for me, but after upgrading, 5.1 no longer recognizes my mouse. I have a USB Intellimouse Explorer (5 buttons). Only the 2 standard buttons and scroll wheel button were recognized by 5.1. Also, the mouse acceleration curve was way worse. I tried running the update a few times with my mouse plugged in different configurations, but to no avail. I went back and installed 5.0 and everything works the way it used to. Good thing I kept a copy. BTW, I didn't write to bash MS. I actually gave 5.0 a good review, but 5.1 is just horrible for me. Also, I'm not happy that there's no info on "What's New". [alert admin]

Apple Java Update 1.4.2 Update 1 (Mac OS X)
seems to work fine, but there doesn't seem to be any warning of a restart being needed in Software Update anymore. Rather annoying since I'd just restarted yesterday. [alert admin]

Brain Hotel 1.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I saved the game last night and tried to continue from it today with no luck. Not sure what the load button does. Oh yeah, the package doesn't seem to be in my inventory anymore so I'm guessing it's some kind of glitch. It's a good effort and I would like to try it again, but not being able to save games properly, or at least intuitively, is going to turn me off. [alert admin]

Strip Blackjack 1.0 (Mac OS X)
the moving image gets so distracting when trying to play this game. Maybe if her dress doesn't stick out so much. Also, there are no advanced options such as choosing to split or double down. Varying the bet is also a chore since it's done by menu. [alert admin]

ImageBrowser 1.5 (Mac OS X)
This app allows me to go through a bunch of old pics and lets me decide whether or not to trash them. Saving a bunch of time. Good job. [alert admin]

Thanks for the feedback. I did use the options you mentioned when I was trying out the game back in April. I think the main difference between Pax Imperia and this game is that in Pax, I built fewer more powerful ships but in this game, I just let the ships advance in tech and get built automatically, and soon, I have dozens of ships. I'm big on micro-management but with so many ships, I…

I am actually not sure which apps I have have pixel shading. Does Warcraft III have that? I don't remember noticing anything weird on that. You know what the problem may be? I have a flashed PC version of the Radeon 8500. Gold Dust looks fine, so I'll still keep this in my iTunes plugins folder.

You are right. Haha, I got this funny message, "GasLight : Pixel shaders not supported. Crappy blur effect will be used instead!"

Thanks for the info. It turned out to be a problem with my files' "Mac type". For some reason, it was set to JPEG instead of GIF. I think there was a Classic environment problem. They now work after I changed the Mac type to the proper setting.

Man, how harsh. I don't see how you can rate things like "ease of use" or "features" when you weren't able to try it. I still don't think it counts, but at worst, you could've given him 1 under "quality/stability".

Have you checked the fan for your GPU? I'm not sure if the overheating of video cards can cause problems such as yours, but I know that Ati have a bad reputation for their fans. It's all over the xlr8yourmac forums. My R8500 fan is starting to die out (it speeds up and down, when it's working) and I noticed a slight brown coloring on the fan, which probably happened when the fan doesn't start.…

You tried rebooting? It could the file is assumed to be used by an app or background process you don't know about. You can always remove it manually using the command line. check online for info about "sudo rm"

I played all the currently available levels (22 human and 5 necromancer) and they all ran well. A few of the human levels (#15-17, I think) seemed a little slow but I played each only once so they could've been an isolated cases. Oh, also worth nothing is that there are multiple storyline and levels possibilities depending on things like whether or not a character lives (eg Moremiru), which character gets the Scepter of Fire, which…

I should've read the product description more thoroughly before posting. Sorry for the somewhat harsh review. I should've listed it as a commentary instead.
