as much as I love Leopard server, in order to take advantage of the Directory application I need everyone on Leopard, so that's a problem for us at this time. What we need is a company wide shared contacts solution for the mac. This app will work for macs running tiger or better and windows machines running XP or better, which is over 90% of my install base. We simplified the process by making only one company account and loading it on everyone's system with that account info. So that everyone can add and view contacts without implementing a server based solution on our end and no per seat costs. Bravo and thank you for providing a solution to a long standing problem. The only downsides I see are a) that someone can just as easily delete everything, so regular exports should be done as backups, b) sometimes syncing will take a few minutes before changes are seen, and if you are connecting to another user you just created, be patient they will show up but give it several minutes. c) adding contacts is not quite as slick as Directory.app but still simple. d) it's advisable to quit ripplex before logging out as sometimes it takes a while to do so and cancels logout, but all in all this is a small price to pay. I can't call it perfect, but it does what we need well. [alert admin]

3D-Space VFS 1.9.4 (Mac OS X)
like someone said, not every view is right for every person. Something tells me this will be "right" for very very few people. I find it clumsy to navigate, I couldn't figure out how to eject a volume, and it's movements got me lost fast. My need is to browse and find stuff on my hard drive quickly and this just doesn't do that. Otherwise it's a neat concept and I wish the developer the best of luck in future releases. [alert admin]

DupeNuker 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)
admittedly I only spent 5 min with the product, I had tried tidy up! but was looking for something better. this demo produces only 10 results, no color coding, hard to read and decipher in comparison, used terminology seems initially confusing although I figured it out, and it cost $15 more so I didn't see a reason to continue evaluation. iPIM 1.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
The issue I am trying to resolve is shared Contacts. The calendar we are already doing with iCal and WebDAV so that's not a big issue. It's the $2000+(Canadian) for 25 licenses that is rediculous. Another problem is vCard support, there is none. One would think if we were upgrading from apple's address book, that you would supply a method to do so. Such is not the case. It's too bad, I like the product, it will work great for my application. OSX server gives me way more functionality and an unlimited license for $1000. $2000 for 25 people to have shared contacts? Sorry, my customers are not cool with that. Personally I'd like to see a "splinter" product to just deal with shared contacts, and this company seems to be the only one that got it right. But without more realistic pricing, I still won't be interested in recommending it. [alert admin]

webEdition CMS 3.4.0.5 (Mac OS X)
I've been through tons of CMS programs mostly on Linux and the best so far is Mambo. It's also free and you can integrate mambo php-shop for full on e-commerce. (also free) We develop on our sites on this technology now. I won't say implementation was a breeze the first time, but we've installed full websites in under 24 hours using this. an example: voltaicsystems.ca [alert admin]

MoniTOR 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)
The program is partly in english but you can't get to that part without a serial number. all the text up to that point is not in english. So if you don't have a serial number for this product, don't bother to download it. To add insult to injury, the installer presents you with 4 buttons all of which say "do not loc", it has no EULA. This product version number should be .102 instead of 1.0.2. It's far from a final release. I'd add a rating but there is no zero rating available. [alert admin]
