Convert Any 1.01 (iPhone)
If you look at Convert Any via the App Store you can see that it is a commercial app. Not sure whether it used to be freeware or whether this is just an erroneous entry in versiontracker [alert admin]

Excellent concept but with problems for at least some
When it's working, Em@ilCRX does a better job with spam than anything I've tried, but I am experience problems running it on my computer (Dual 450Mhz G4, 10.4.8) with Eudora as my mail agent. the program periodically eats all my CPU cycles, taking many minutes even to come to the foreground. This occurs even when running in Safe Mode, so it does not appear to be due to third party software conflicts. If it runs for you, then great, because it does a superb job. I don't know what the sourced of my problem is, but I don't appear to be the only one. Be prepared to do a lot of setup yourself. The program is not particularly newbie-friendly, and the manual does not explain things like "Run Aging", nor are these elements customizable at this point. that said, there is an active and helpful discussion forum at http://hendricom.com and the developer is quite active and engaged. Meditation Timer Widget 1.2 (Mac OS X)
As a meditator I experience some habitual expectations around set times. It's useful sometimes to have "someone else" decide the length of time, within a certain limit. I'd love to see this Widget offer a "plus or minus X minutes" option to add that little bit of open-endedness to the sessions. [alert admin]

TechTool Deluxe 3.0.4 (Mac OS X)
It's been six months or more and Techtool Deluxe still bears no driver for the trackpads that have been shipping with iBooks since last spring. [alert admin]

CopyPaste + yType 2.7.2 (Mac OS X)
this download link and the link at Script Software's site are currently both delivering a version called 2.7.1 not 2.7.2 [alert admin]

TechTool Deluxe 3.0.4 (Mac OS X)
No trackpad support on a new iBook
3.0.4, though it is provided by Apple as part of AppleCare when one purchases a new iBook, does not have the driver for the mid-2005 generation of trackpads. The result is that Techtool works, but you can only move the cursor if you plug in an external mouse. Seeing as Micromat has already released a September update that's Tiger compatible, it's odd they haven't yet included the new drivers. [alert admin]

CopyPaste + yType 2.6 (Mac OS X)
two things: 1) yType calculates stuff with numbers even though I've got it turned off 2) suddenly, after years of working well, I'm suspecting Copypaste of crashing Word. repeatably, when I copy or try to paste into one particular Word Document, Word crashes, and the computer hangs. At that point Copypaste is "Not Responding" according to Force Quit. If I force quit Copypaste, the computer unfreezes. [alert admin]

Diet Sleuth 4.3.1 (Mac OS X)
I'm a sometimes-user of Diet Sleuth and as I recall it IS possible to search for words. It's not the greatest search function, by any means, and it may be among the slowest, but you can search for keywords. My gripes are related, though. It is grindingly tedious to search for and input items for a day's meals, even after assiduously compiling favorites. My experience is that I am capable of applying Diet Sleuth to help me track calories or carbs or whatever for about one month after which I find it has become part of the stuff that my dieting resistance is made up of, rather than an aid. In short, it becomes more trouble than it's worth in about 30 days. It should get easier, but it doesn't. I'm afraid fixing this would require not only a major reprogramming but in some ways a rethinking of how the database is accessed (enable deleting of unused records, for one thing), and of how dieters approach food and meals. Settle down, Jeff. Nobody ever got anywhere useful by dissing the clueless. Here are the facts. 1) EmailCRX is essentially a legacy product; Jeff has been working on Purify, which replaces CRX and surpasses it, for most of this year. That doesn't mean that people can't want EmailCRX to keep working, but it does explain why Jeff's attention may be elsewhere. BTW, CRX worked gangbusters for me and Purify is even better. 2) Jeff is a…

How does this compare to Plaxo?
Actually, it doesn't quite. Plaxo syncs the events that I create, but the events that others put on my calendar do not get synced with Plaxo, and therefore not with iCal.

Good concept but finicky with poor support
With regard to the issue of support or prompt response, I think some perspective is in order. I tried out Mailings and liked what I saw. I recently purchased the program and did not immediately receive my serial number/password. My first email went unanswered. But my second (more concerned) email was immediately acknowledged and it turned out that the original error was a breakdown in communication between Limit Point and PayPal. since then my communications…

I tried loading a pdf document that I had generated from a Word doc and the application had no trouble loading it and displaying it. I do agree that the file navigation interface is extremely cumbersome and annoying.
