LockDown 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Already used?

Forgive me but I thought I better point out that Lockdown (small "d") is already an app by Loghound for Rapidweaver. It might be better to rename this to something else to avoid confusion. Just a comment. [alert admin]

Apple iLife 08 (Mac OS X)

Knock Knock...

. . . is anybody there? Overall, I am very disappointed. Why didn't Apple listen? I would not have spent the money. It is mainly a combination of things. The new features are great. But it is sort of like buying a new care without the Cd player you paid for, oh, and by the way, we put a manual transmission in it even though you paid for an automatic. 1) iWeb- biggest disappointment. There is no built in support for publish to another domain. This was hinted at and hinted at but when it all comes out it is only support for .Mac. (Which is still no where near what I get for $85/year- 45g of space, 99% uptime and excellent customer service) 2) iPhoto- biggest approval. Very well done! 3) iMovie- Can't use it on my machine. Makes each piece of the package have to be valued more because iMovie is a pointless upgrade, there is no upgrade. Instead of $79 for 5 things, now $79 for 4 things. Sad. 4) Garageband- Nice stuff. Don't use that often. But nice stuff. 5) iDVD- haven't played with it yet I guess iWeb just really made me not like this upgrade. The "wow" factor went through the floor. If you were waiting and hoping like I was that your non-.mac website would finally be easy to upload and manage, as most Mafia people would say, "Forget about it." I think I'm going to either GoLive or Rapidweaver. [alert admin]

Symbolical 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Interesting, Seems fun, but still frustrating...

This has potential. I guess I'm just not too bright. I can't figure out the rhyme or reason behind what I am supposed to be doing. I like the play, the graphics are good, the simple sounds are good. But I don't understand it. The help file really doesn't help me. I can give a better, thorough review if someone could explain to me what it is I am doing with these tiles. I like Suduko. I'm not to bad at it either. Am I reading more into this game than it deserves? What am I missing? [alert admin]

1Passwd 2.3.11 (Mac OS X)

BUY IT! Definitely worth it!

This program does so much more than keychain can do. You just need to try it out. Actually download it. Install it. Use it for 30 days. You will find it indispensible. I even made an identity for my wife so she could fill out all those American Idol web forms. :] And I love the fact that it is uses keychain to encrypt all my web data. Can't do that with keychain!! To Do Tracker 1.5 (Mac OS X)

Chronological Order?

I think it would be even better if your notes were created in front of your other notes. For example, if I made a note titled 3-25-2007 and then tomorrow made a new note then it would be in front of that note in the viewing order. I know that you can move the note manually. But when I make to-do lists one list is usually replaced by the next list. It would also be cool if you could port over the undone things in one list to the next. Just two things I think would make this widget superb! Thanks [alert admin]

Pontoon 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Good program

Sometimes you just want a quick and easy game to stimulate the mind or give a small dose of diversion. This game is the ticket. The play is easy and the AI is better than I am so it works out. Good solid game. Keep it simple. As far as the other reviewer, this is donationware. You don't have to pay for it. I have been using it and haven't paid anything yet. The program works great and there aren't any nag screens. I wouldn't pay much for the app, but it is a fun game. Don't knock the game because it is donationware. Knock it if it doesn't work right or is not fun or something along those lines. [alert admin]

iClip 4 (Mac OS X)

Like the UI, but not as stable

I find the UI very nice. I like the transparency option. It works the same as 3.7, which I found very useful to my work. It is the crashing that bothers me. I shove the actual app in my Utilities folder and restarting, maybe I'm lazy, is just not very convenient. I would like to see a 4.1 very soon that addresses the issue. I would like to see an additional feature. When I hover over the item, it shows the contents. I would like to be able to enable a feature that when you click on the "button" or image in the UI it inserts that image into wherever your cursor is. In the new UI the new in and out buttons are pretty small and hard to hit quickly, so I use the quick keys for copy. It would be nice to be able to quick click on the image and it pops where you want it. Good program. [alert admin]

Photo Desktop 1.5.2 (Mac OS X)

Great Change...

from a boring desktop. I often change my desktop and was getting bored with all the different patterns, pictures and props. This way my desktop is personalized and I get to see the people I love all the time and out of the way of work and play. I would like to note that it does support multiple monitors but when you plug in the other monitor it will change the size of the pictures to match both desktops. In other words, instead of keeping them the same size on the higher resolution monitor, it changes them to match the resolution of the lower resolution monitor even thought they are displayed on the higher resolution monitor. Sound strange? It is. My monitor settings have not changed but the pictures and the desktop background do. It isn't a critical thing. Just a note so the developer can look into it. I still think it is a great program and my startup time is still fast. Thanks!! [alert admin]

Is it worth the money?

You have obviously NOT used this program. This program rocks. There is no way that the keychain stores your web passwords. With this program all your web stuff is safe and FULLY encrypted. The passwords are all in one place and it generates SECURE passwords if you tell it. It saves so much time and energy! And it does it in a way that is 100% safe. You don't have to worry about Safari's fill…
