Font Examiner 3.0 (Mac OS X)

OK but

it does not work with Photoshop 7. Will not even cut and paste into it. Must add the ability to use the keyboard to select characters in display window. [alert admin]

QemuX 0.15b (Mac OS X)

Fast?????

You must be kidding. This is a wrapper for the BOCHS CPU emulation and it is the best wrapper on the Mac. ( There are others) However, you could take a short vacation while it loads Windows on an iBook G4 1gig. The mouse operates like it is on demerol and the general operation is sluggish to say the least. I would only use it as a last resort to run a windows program. The Virtual PC from Microsoft is 3 times faster in general and works better. I hate to plug this softwarem bwcause of who maintains it. There are other alternatives as well. Perhaps there is a faster version od BOCHs cause this is now over a year old with no update. Be warned it is slower than ditch water IMHO it is really unusable. [alert admin]

Komodo 4.0a2 (Mac OS X)

Unistaller needed

This program's installers write files all over the place in the OSX root library. I mean lots and lots of small files. Shortly after I installed it, things started toget wobblie with my operating system. I can't say that this program effect the operating system because there is no way of knowing. I tried to work with it for a few days and found it more trouble than it was worth and I decided to go back to ZEND Studio. However there is no Uninstaller that I could find, so I had to replace my entire system to get rid of it all. [alert admin]

webEdition CMS 4.0.0.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Very Nice

This is a very nice program that mixes opensource and commercial (paid) modules. It has decent documentation which you don't get in opensource. Also the company's excellent free app MAMP has done more to enable opensource on the Mac than just about any other product I can think of. These guys have very close Mac intergration and should not be overlooked when considering CMS. I hope to see PHP5 support soon... [alert admin]

WellRounded 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Huh? $40 bucks

This is dead easy to do in CSS. There are lots of sites that will give you step-by- step explanations. This should be priced at $10.00 [alert admin]

MassReplaceIt 2.9 (Mac OS X)

Very Nice

This is a nice utility. I would like to see a few additions however... 1. The program should show me the duplicate words, rather than just telling me. 2. In the Find/Replace window be able to sort on find or replace. 3. Save Queries in a plain text file format, not just in user/library/appsupport 4. Remove the 128 string limit 5. Be able to combine queries and automatically remove duplicates 6. Be able to split queries into smaller ones. Hope this helps Chris [alert admin]

Revolution 2.7 (Mac OS X)

Installer---NOT

I used to own this and have been waiting for about 15 years to have a Hypercard like program again that would work well and feel solid. Well I am still waiting after buying every card program since 1987! Spend some time guys and do a proper beta. This includes rewriting the sample apps that you include with the program. They are simply terrible. I would like to comment on this version but the installer fails. It has little error correction for its downloads and the files are some weird type. Just divide the code, zip it and allow people to download it in pieces. This is a great idea for people like me on dial-up. I have tried to download the files for the past few days and nights and it always errors half way through part 3 of 10. Sometimes it starts over at file 3, but often it just starts all over from file 1. This is bullsh*t. I have no trouble downloading any other files, why is this such a problem? I really recommend you try and get a good solid Mac product rather than trying to be all things to all people and failing to make the mark with any. I agree, Revolution still is not ready for prime time. I have no confidence in it. I would like to use it but I can't. It is too bad Still waiting..were is Appware when you need it. Your remarks are a waste of time

It wasn't a waste of time to the software provider...they fix the OutofBounds array problem!
