FileChute 4.2.5 (Mac OS X)
Saves my Macbutt each & every time
I've owned FileChute for years, I use it when I need it and it never lets me down. Great concept for the Mac. [alert admin]

Super Flexible File Synchronizer 4.64 (Mac OS X)
The first "reviewer" has got to be kidding. I purchased SFFS in a bundle, wiped an external drive and launched SFFS. Let the fun begin: In SFFS you copy left to right, or right to left (Hebrew copies), not source to destination - it can be very confusing. It seems to have possibilities but lacks ease of use (lots of extra steps, worthless explanations, and it has to index all the files and sort all the files before it does anything else - and then it asks you to authenticate - so don't go anywhere for 15 -20 minutes (depending how much you're copying. - it ain't "flexible: its got to be the worst software I've seen in the last 15 years! Big 0 for this puppy :( [alert admin]

Retrospect 8.0.608.1 (Mac OS X)
I've been using retrospect with my clients (100+) since ver 1. I recently upgraded one of my clients and found out it won't use previous scripts. I tried to setup new scripts in Ver 8 and after 45 minutes went back to 6. The interface in completely different, it's hard to setup, & hard to monitor what you have scripted. the only thing this version has in common with earlier versions is the name Retrospect. Don't waste your time. [alert admin]

Apple iPhone 2.1 (iPhone)
Well, this morning I ran to my MBA & installed 2.1 for the iPhone (I have a 3G). I have been having issues updating & downloading apps & have restored my iPhone 6X in the last two weeks :(. I also had reception issues & never got above one bar @ my house, & was dropping calls like you wouldn't believe. I'm happy to say this update fixed all my problems. I now have four to five bars & don't crash when updating & downloading apps. My faith in Apple is renewed. [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.2.2 (Mac OS X)
Not for LOGITECH CORDLESS LASER DESKTOP SET FOR MAC
This update disables all of the special keys on the S530 Desktop set for Mac - I was able to uninstall 2.2.2 & reinstall 2.1.4 & all worked again. [alert admin]

Apple Boot Camp 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Installed on Mac Pro Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon stock model without a hitch, installed Quake 4, turned on almost every enhancement and it played more smoothly than on my PC. Since I do all my productive work on a Mac and use Windows for gaming, Boot Camp + XP Pro will allow me to get rid of the extra computer. [alert admin]

Halo 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)
Since I've installed this update my zooms are distorted to the extent that that feature is no longer usable. My crosshair turns red when I'm aligned but when I shoot nothing gets hit or dies. Time to reinstall i guess. [alert admin]

Fast DVD Copy 1.0.4 (Mac OS X)
I have a dual 867/10.3.3/2gb/ComboDrive/SuperDrive/4 large hard disks (mostly Western Digital) and so far Fast DVD Copy does what they say it does. I am using 4X DVD/R disks & so far all copies have taken less than 1/2 hour. When duplicating I do other things like play Halo, email, browse the WWW & no problems. Windows products that do the same thing as Fast DVD Copy required dedicating the computer when duplicating a DVD & cost around the same. As for price... the Mac market is microscopic when compared to Windows so it should cost more!? Oh yeah, the copy protection/authorization thing sucks! [alert admin]

Safari Extender 1.1.5 (Mac OS X)

Safari Extender is going to save me a whole lot of time. When browsing I'm very task oriented and the ability to load tab sets saves me think-time and gets me underway immediately. The other features are tasty icing on the most delicious cake I've had in quite awhile. THANKS!!!!

Absolute Backgammon 3.0.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
The author of this program is definitely paranoid. Do to the nature of my job I change Macs about every 3 to 6 months and he wanted me to pay another registration fee every time I change computers & he indirectly accused me of piracy. I love this program but I will not be a victim to extortion to play a game. [alert admin]
