ArchDetect 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Simple and effective

Does what it says - can't ask for more. And like the reply to the comment below points out, even though Activity Monitor can show you the same information, you'd have to run every app on your Mac at the same time to see it. This is just easier. :) [alert admin]

flvThing 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Supports audio FLVs!

It was surprisingly hard to find an FLV player that could properly handle audio-only FLVs... Nice job! [alert admin]

iSync phone plugins 4.0 (Mac OS X)

Worth Every Penny

This app finally let me sync my Nokia 6133 with Address Book and iCal! Just install it, and iSync immediately recognizes all the additional phones listed on the Nova Media website. It can't get any more simple than that. :) [alert admin]

Think 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Fantastic App!

This app really comes in handy when you leave certain windows open all day long (e.g. gmail) but don't necessarily want to see what new emails or gchats you have every time you glance over to that part of the screen. Brilliant app! [alert admin]

Missile Command 0.9 (Mac OS X)

Harder Than You Think!

You start playing the first few levels of this game, thinking it is a piece of cake, and then BAM! You lose most of your cities in level 14. Damn level 14. Great game! (btw - love the music!) [alert admin]

iPhoto Exif Cleaner 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Fantastic!

This little application is incredible. I have been using iPhoto Buddy for as long as I can remember to manage my iPhoto libraries (over 6,500 photos) because iPhoto 5 would simply crawl whenever it contained over 1,000 photos. Now I find that my Casio Exilim EX-S2 digital camera is the culprit behind the slow loading speeds! (still, fabulous camera though) :) Once I exported my (five) iPhoto libraries, ran iPhoto Exif Cleaner on the photos and then re-imported them into an empty iPhoto library, the speed increase was absolutely amazing! My iPhoto library is now loading in a few seconds, where before it would take several minutes. I think now I can finally uninstall iPhoto Buddy and use a single iPhoto library for all my photos! And as if this weren't enough, iPhoto Exif Cleaner can automatically clean your photos as they are imported from your digital camera onto your computer! What more could you ask for? For FREE? To see if your digital camera is behind the slowness of your iPhoto library, check out the developer's homepage, as well as Eric Lindsay's page, which goes into some detail on how and why this slowness in iPhoto 5 occurs. http://www.msephton.plus.com/exifcleaner/ http://www.ericlindsay.com/apple/iphoto5slow.htm The developer has done a great job on this application, and while I do not have any complaints, I do have a couple of feature requests that may or may not be really easy to do: (1) For existing libraries, it would be easier if you could simply pick a folder you wanted to clean, rather than having to name it 'DCIM' and put it in the same folder as iPhoto Exif Cleaner (2) Display real progress as you clean the photos, even if it is only the filename of the current photo, similar to the output of the read-only version Thanks again for the great app! It's All About the Finder Toolbar!

t:f: Come on- RTFM!!!! What is the point in this?? Copying and moving couldn't be simpler with a Mac. For starters there is the ctrl key. press this and click the mouse. Here you can copy and move to your hearts content with having to install this stupid applet. (Even better if you have a dual button mouse- as you don't have to hold down the ctrl key :D ) Secondly- and probably most importantly-…

Put it in the Finder Toolbar!

kabo2: I don't get it... You can either Cmd-C Cmd-V files, or you can just drag the file (while holding alt if you want to copy it) with your mouse! Why would I want to drag it to a droplet?

Thanks for your comment! To answer your question, what I had in mind for this droplet when I wrote it is to have it in my Finder toolbar, so I could copy files to another folder without…

I Don't Think They're Quite the Same...

stoneage: ....wouldn't it be duplicating? http://24.118.138.77/~williamoreilly/copymove.png

Thanks for the comment! To answer your question, as far as I remember, with CM you have to predefine the folders included in the "Copy To" and "Move To" submenus; you can't specify a new one on the fly. I also don't think CM affects the Finder toolbar, which is where I have these applications on my PowerBook.

So even if CM can in fact perform the same…

You Gotta Love the Finder Toolbar!

MacG5 (Xybernic): If you're gonna drag & drop files on this app because you want to move or copy your files, why don't you just drag & move/copy the the actuall folder!? This way you don't have to type the folder path. :-)

Hi! Thanks for the comments - You're right, if you just leave the applications in some miscellaneous folder, then there's no real point in navigating over to them to copy or move files,…
