Videobox 2.5.1 (Mac OS X)

Price increased to 15 bucks.

This app is no longer $8, someone needs to update the price increase to $15. [alert admin]

Phoenix Slides 1.2.4 (Mac OS X)

"You had me at SUB-Folders!"

Thank you! Your product is fast and simple and gave me the "peek inside, inside, inside" I needed! Sweet JezzusMarynJosef!!! ...Apparently it's too much to ask other media browsers to <b>just "SHOW ME the PICTURES!"</b> (Hmmm, another Jerry McGuire reference.) But not this one! Phoenix Slides does exactly what it says it does, point it to the picture folders and it chews through every stinking sub-folder to layout a preview of your image. The scale up works faster than Bridge or iPhoto, and the Reveal in Finder sealed the deal. Not fancy, but fast and easy. The only thing I might suggest is a right-click option on an image to "Open with..." but don't do it if it slows the app down. [alert admin]

NoteMind 1.5.0 (Mac OS X)

Proxy problems

This looks good, I've been looking for a more "visually-searchable" notebook. But after only a couple uses, what's the point if I can't save even just ONE thing in the demo? Had crashes, too, when it looks to display the websites and it meets up with a proxy server, so that ate the quick visual flip through. Like the mapping, like the search, but needs more symbol or icon personalization other than color on sidebar. Also, maybe hierarchy display option? Good program, keep working on it, though. ScreenBroadcasting 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Save 10 bucks!

P.U.! it sucks CPU! Why would I want to broadcast total mush? No matter what low pixel resolution my desktop is set at, or if I'm zoomed in... it all appears so horrendously compressed that NOTHING is legible. Honestly, it's the codec and size format scale limitations built into iChat that mangles your screen... But the chunky-slow processor playback completes the total package and makes it well-roundedly worthless. So. What's the point? Save $10 and go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/seminarsystem to properly live-stream your Mac desktop. I haven't tried it in Final Cut, so no opinion there. [alert admin]

DockIP 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Bug report - PROXY trouble

"application has unexpectedly quit." I loved Dock IP while I had no proxy settings and firewall issues to deal with. For a year it's worked great for me. Kudos. Now I have to "log in" to get internet access since my office moved back to super-corporate land. Every time I try and launch Dock IP to see my IP address (since I have dynamic IP addressing) it now simply quits totally. I am assuming it's the proxy deal. Or even the threat of pinging our external IP address? I don't know. I hate to dump it, but it worthless to me unless you can find a workaraound or fix. ---LNeumann [alert admin]
